Is the batch tasks feature in design templates broken? I'm trying to get it to add image scaling, it says it's completed the task but it isn't actually doing anything that I can see.

Solved: Selecting "Both" when choosing between Standard Empires and Pirates actually only makes the changes to Pirates. Have to make changes to both independent of one another.

Good catch Unforseen, I've fixed that in 1.1.0.24

Not sure if anyone else is facing a similar issue, but when adding new components I am unable to set special effects (projectile effects) for newly added weapons. I can get the file explorer to open for the component image but not the special image. It is odd because if I switch to another weapon component I can open the file browser for them.

I also noticed that if I try selecting a component image from the file browser when setting a new component's image, rather than referencing the image file it copies the original image for the component that I selected over to the mod folder. (is this intended?)

Manually entering the number that references the component image or special effects image does nothing, so I'm assuming that it is required to use the file browser method to select images for use, which wouldn't be an issue if the program didn't copy over EVERY single image that I utilize.

Any clarification would be great! Also, thank you for putting together such a nice modding tool, it really simplifies the process for modding.

'http://sabranan.hopto.org/shares/ExternalHTTP/Distant Worlds Mod Editor.application did not succeed.' :(

i got the itch for dwu lately, but i dislike gravitic weapons and wanted to mod it out and make my game more pew pew like dw early days

edit: i just went through every race and disallowed 115 grav weapon, then check design temp plates for ships using the weapon, then replace it with their secondary type, now about to check and see if it works :D

Sorry peeps, didn't realise the updater was broken!

After a fair bit of shouting at my NAS I believe I've got it back online.

@Ruddles

You need a mod folder to work with first.

Hit the "Specify Mod Folder" button in the top-left of the tool and a window will open allowing you to navigate to the Distant Worlds installation folder, then the "Customization" subfolder.

This is where your mod folder needs to be, so if you don't have one already you can use that window to make a new one there and then.

Just select it and hit ok and it should start loading up.

Thanks for the tool, Sabranan! I'm getting a bit back into DW:U modding after hovering around DW2 for a year. DW2 still needs some time in the development oven. So...gonna start merging/editing some of my old DW:U mods. Looking forward to using this.

Thank you!

The download link on the main page is for v1.1.0.19, is there a download link for version v1.1.0.24 anywhere ?
