If the carrier aircraft in the Western Med are able to get involved in the Italian Coast then the Macchi in Salerno flies. However I don't think they can, in which case nothing for the Italians in either hex and they stick around until the searches come to an end or the CP are destroyed - in which case the cruisers won't hang around if they have the chance to turn tail.
