Snow? We are barely over the 30 year average and we have 4 feet on the ground with more coming. March is typically our biggest snow month.
What's your Strategy?

RJ, where'd you get that info on Hawaii? I served two tours of duty at Schofield Barracks - 7 yrs total - with the 25th ID. We trained a bit on the Big Island of Hawaii, at PTA (Pohakoloa Training Area), the big, moonscape lava field between Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea. Mauna Kea is where it snows (possibly Mauna Loa as well), and Mauna Kea is where the observatory is located. We heard that it would snow every once in a while on Mauna Kea, sometimes with accumulation, but I don't recall ever hearing the frequency of snowfall to which you stated - hence my curiosity as to your source. And PTA can get super cold, surprisingly...there are cinder cones like little hills that stick up above the lava fields (puu's as they're called), and the cones are high enough that when the fog rolls in, you're blanketed in this thick, cold, wet blanket. Being in OP or defensive positions on the puu's can be brutal. Cheers.RangerJoe wrote: Mon Feb 27, 2023 5:20 pm Speaking of snow, Hawaii is the state in the USA where it snows more days than any other state. I do believe that it snows there about 200 times a year, and they also have winter storms and blizzards.
Duluth, Minnesota, USA, has had snow every month except August.
Let's keep our comments more friendly than this.
I read it somewhere, I can't find it now, and if I had it bookmarked it was on a computer that crashed. But Hawaii gets a lot of rainy days and those mountains get cold as you know, so instead of rain they would get snow. Not all of the time but since it gets to around 20 F at night even during the summer, any precipitation would come as snow.pnzrgnral wrote: Tue Feb 28, 2023 5:03 amRJ, where'd you get that info on Hawaii? The issue was that the ships in a TF (#417 offmap) had 0 endurance which caused a 'divide by zero' error.rook749 wrote: Sat Feb 25, 2023 3:08 am New Beta Crashes During the Minesweeping phase. Save Attached March 27th, 1942.
Thanks, Michaelm, any idea how I can work around this issue?michaelm75au wrote: Fri Mar 03, 2023 10:18 pmThe issue was that the ships in a TF (#417 offmap) had 0 endurance which caused a 'divide by zero' error.rook749 wrote: Sat Feb 25, 2023 3:08 am New Beta Crashes During the Minesweeping phase. Funny we have never seen this before.
I don't think it was the 0 endurance, I think it is a "pathing" issue.I changed the TF Destination and Home Port to Balboa from Cristoba. The issue went away. They say it will take 167 days to get to port, but at least the game does not crash.michaelm75au wrote: Fri Mar 03, 2023 10:18 pmThe issue was that the ships in a TF (#417 off-map) had 0 endurance which caused a 'divide by zero' error.rook749 wrote: Sat Feb 25, 2023 3:08 am New Beta Crashes During the Minesweeping phase. I agree. I think the problem is that the program does not allow taskforces to move directly from the map to Cristóbal, but it does allow the player to set Cristóbal as a destination and home port for a on map task force. This is going to be a very large problem if not fixed.rook749 wrote: Sat Mar 04, 2023 8:24 pmI don't think it was the 0 endurance, I think it is a "pathing" issue.I changed the TF Destination and Home Port to Balboa from Cristoba. The actual error that crashed it was the zero endurance. Whether that was sue to the TF pathing or not, I didn't check. Once I added the code to check the endurance, the turn finished successfully.rook749 wrote: Sat Mar 04, 2023 8:24 pmI don't think it was the 0 endurance, I think it is a "pathing" issue.I changed the TF Destination and Home Port to Balboa from Cristoba. Off-map destination has had some work done in the 'final' update, so it may be already addressed.Nomad wrote: Sat Mar 04, 2023 10:02 pmI agree. And I think the answer is NO. Maps are made up of Art (the pretty map you see) and a digital file that defines all the map features (base locations, terrain, hex sides, roads and railroads, etc.). The 1127 patch will introduce new bases, especially off-map. Your Bellum Pacifica map does not have these for you to see and the computer will do what its map says instead of your art.
I think this is exactly right.BBfanboy wrote: Mon Mar 06, 2023 7:10 pm We went through this stuff when DaBigBabes mod was created featuring an extended map - no direct link between Aden and Abadan, a new piece of land along the top map edge with a new base, new bases in southern Malaya, etc. If the map data file does not match the art you will have problems routing your TFs and perhaps aircraft and LCUs too. You could use the map data for the new patch 1127, but your artwork for Bellum Pacifica would need to be updated to make sense.
