It all came out fine.

Was having lunch yesterday at the Old 27 Grill, and the gal behind the bar turned out to be Caitlyn 'Kate' Callaway; BM3 on USCGC Munro during a series of sequential deployments that resulted in a circumnavigation. Arctic fisheries, JNSDF cooperation Japan, Indonesia relief, Horn of Africa anti-pirate patrol (Aaarrgh!!), Durban and then So Orkney and Anvers Isls (to say howdy), and home to Alameda.

Short gal, blonde, smart as a whip and hard as nails. Reminds me a lot of Jenny (Lt. J. Nelson, USN). She was #2 'boats' so she got to see (and smell) perps right up close. She's from right here in Mobile GD Bay, Alabama. Her Dad has a sailboat and they love to cruise.

So, if you're tanking up somewhere, chat up the darlin that's pouring the beverages. Never know what friends you might find [8D]

Me and Shaun were riding our bikes this bee-yoo-tee-ful Bama morning and rode by Summerdale NOLF. And there, if you can believe it, was an honest to gosh Stearman Model-75, painted yellow, with a solid blue rudder. We park the bikes and go inside (a tin shed that barely holds the coffeepot) and a very nice Ensign gives us a walk around. He actually did a lot more once we started pulling out IDs and Licenses and began begging.

He probably broke every rule in the book, but Shaun and I got a very nice ride. On my turn, I got the stick and pedals for a good 10 minutes: banking and diving and swooping like a bird. God, what a thrill !! The wind in your hair, the push in your guts, and the knowing that this was the same plane your Dad flew when he was training. One cannot believe how exilarating the experience!

Come to find out that the Navy has "Navy Days" in certain places, so our rides weren't totally off the radar. We were just very lucky people at the right place at the right time.

Have you ever looked at the Matrix post stats for this forum? Our group with WITP:AE appears to be the most active with nearly 400k posts out of about 2.5 million total. The only one close is WItE with just over 100k.

What a great group of guys and gal we have here! Thank you one and all for such a great gaming experience.
