I thought we'd all agreed never to talk about football ever again?

Well technically I wasn't. I don't think the total dross, our team serves up, can be mistaken for football.

Best bit? If Arsenal beat out of form Wolves tonight - in other words when - then they go above us. You need a certain masochistic streak to support our mob don't you?

aye, how can we go from Poch-ball at its most impressive to a re-enaction of the George Grahem years (but without all the sexy interesting frills).

Not to say that Poch-ball wasn't getting a bit rough at the edges but at its best, Spurs were genuinely worth watching.

To make it worse, the Highland League is still cancelled. But then we do have the comedy show that is Celtic at the moment.

Sadly it looks like Arsenal were completely in control and threw the game away with some bad luck and a moment of madness. I think at the moment Spurs can only dream of playing as well as Arsenal. We are just monumentally awful. We simply have no midfield and the number of times we are on the edge of the opponent's penalty area only for - two passes later - the ball to be in our own half is actually embarrassing. First thought every time - pass it sideways and backwards until eventually even the Spurs players get fed up and just punt it hopefully up field.... which they could have done five minutes previously....

Nice one. warspite1, you big jester. That is rugby they play. And the sound of cricket can be relaxing but in the end they are just insects who makes an annoying sound all evenings.

They apparently are good for fishing as well but not very good at fighting scorpions.

We brought on Alli and Winks....

Contribution? Alli, one clever back heel aside, simply fell over a lot, lost the ball a lot and then embarrassingly got booked for a ridiculous dive while trying to cheat his way to a penalty.

Winks? He gave away the ball that led to the winning goal, got booked, lost the ball countless times, fired a shot that almost hit the corner flag and failed to find any decent pass.

Why weren't both allowed to leave in January????

One thing that you might be able to do to improve your odds of winning if it is legal is to bet on the other team winning. So either way, you win. [;)]

It sounds like my cat might play better "football" although she might pick up said object with her mouth!

please can Mourinho just go now? its not just the losses, the turgid football etc, its the endless claims that he is a genius and its everyone else's fault.

maybe now is a good time to try out something different, Sherwood for example?

I don't think he can, if the rumours that he was given the long term contract he has with no break clause, are true. How can we afford to get rid of him? But then 5 defeats in 6 Premier League games is relegation form... haven't we been here earlier in the season? [:D]

To be fair to Mourinho for a moment I wonder just how much is truly his fault:

Alli - is plain awful and was just the same in Poch's last two seasons
Dier - is awful and always has been (I guess Mourinho is at fault here because he actually wanted to buy him at Man Utd)
Winks - is awful and never kicked on from his breakthrough season
Sanchez - Again, one good season and then pfft....truly terrible defender
Alderweirald - Why get rid of Super Jan and keep a man who for the last two seasons has been second to every ball - again Mourinho was behind his re-signing so we are told
Moura - 5% genius 95% he couldn't trap a bag of cement
Doherty - says much - top scoring, attacking defender for Wolves. For Spurs he doesn't seem to be able to cross, dribble.. or score a single goal
Davies - Looks so slow he resorts to lumping upfield but is more often than not charged down before he can punt it
Bergwin - Er..... a winger that doesn't run with the ball and has no finishing ability whatsoever
Aurier - and we seriously got rid of KWP for him?
Holbjerg - apart from Everton, a good start to the season but has gone backwards in the last dozen games
Vinicius - Read Soldado, Jansen and every other striker we've tried to sign as Harry's back up
Bale - Just hasn't tried - maybe (and I hate to say it) but Zidane was right?
Lloris - always capable of the odd howler but made up for it - his howlers are now more frequent than his good stuff

Spurs late nineties stylee coming our way soon. Mid-table mediocrity at best.

In my latest FM21 save, it is 24 June 2022 and Spurs have just offered me an interview for the manager's position. Spurs have finished 8th in 21/22 season and Carlo Ancelotti got the heave ho. Jose Mourinho got sacked at the end of the 20/21 season. Harry Kane was sold last season to Man City for £73m up front and rising to £93m with add-ons. In a post-Covid world, Man City are one the few clubs with money to burn. The next few years should be interesting. Covid has, in general, reduced the money that clubs have and in the post Brexit world British players are at a premium for British clubs. Chelsea under Frank Lampard won the Premier League on goal difference from Man City.

Why on earth Spurs would offer me an interview for the job is beyond me. I have just got MK Dons promoted to the Championship but then jumped ship because the board were being total ... well, you can probably work out a suitable ending to that sentence. They meddeleth upon me greatly and I wasn't in the mood. Kind of expected that behaviour (not honouring my contract) to hamper my job opportunities for a while. Haven't even started looking for another job and the dust hasn't even settled when up comes an unsolicited interview offer with Spurs.

I smell a rat. Will probably decline the interview.
