There is one enemy unit remaining at Hong Kong with almost 8,000 troops. A nearly full attack tomorrow will certainly wipe out that last unit. We also attack at Chaochow (on the coast), at Changsha, and at Neikiang tomorrow, plus the continuing zombie elimination campaigns. At Neikiang we have only one unit in hex for the attack with others likely arriving tomorrow, but every day counts in the race to cut off the enemy host retreating down the Tsuyung road. The Chinese 75th Corps will attack by itself to either dislodge the defenders outright or ramp up their disruption for an attack by greater forces the following day.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The armour from the Malaya campaign has begun arriving at Lang Son and will start crossing into China tomorrow. I am thinking about committing most of it to pass through Ichang. That should prove interesting as Hangkow recons with well over 500 AFV and Wuchang with more than 100. Tank battles!
I guess not! [:D]ORIGINAL: Roger Neilson 3

Not sure that I'd describe an encounter between tin clad and undergunned moveable lumps of metal and tanks as a tank battle.....
Roger
The first of the formerly trapped Chinese Army units is boarding trains at Tuyun as we speak. A number of those units are heading out to garrison duty where I'm sure they will look for hot baths and soft beds after camping in the mountains for so many months. Some of the large Chinese Army units that repatriated through Indochina are holding cities as garrison until relieved, as are some very well equipped Allied brigades. There's a coiled spring unleashing energy into the invaders.ORIGINAL: Roger Neilson 3
Yup Wuchang and Hankow are an interesting 'double act' - do not neglect the ability to rail stuff from Tuyun and other parts to Changsha - it helps enormously with the Chinese.
Took me a while to bridge across the Yangtse below and above there but once done so its merely a matter of gradually reducing whatever is inside the two zombie encampments.
Roger
The majority of the combat power is bypassing that area completely.ORIGINAL: RangerJoe
You are very effective with your Combined Arms groups punching holes for you Cavalry (Armor) to rush to the enemies rear while the infantry/artillery have the job of mopping up.
Are you considering taking Chungking and/or Chengtu relatively fast or retreating more Jap units there for the over stack supply problems to weaken the enemy?
Those are the British CVE. The British CV are at Hong Kong, but they are all in good shape. One QE BB is in Hong Kong to get some damage repaired. The fast BB could use a little repair but are mostly OK. The USN non-Iowa fast BB need some minor repairs (I think they are all over 10 sys) but they won't get it with everything gathering for Hokkaido.ORIGINAL: Drakanel
Those respawning chinese divisions would be great for garrisoning [:D]
I see a british carrier TF still at pescadores. Is that the main british fleet? Doesn't it need refits or new planes?
The division bearing down on Ichang moved only 10 miles this day, so I am switching them to move mode in hope of crossing the river tomorrow anyway, although it will weaken their assault. B-24 groups will strike in support with P-47 sweeps overhead. Keep your fingers crossed!--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
