Very interesting war you have going. Good luck.

Can you perhaps update us on the VP ratio over time? Are you playing to achieve a 2:1 ratio or do you have other victory conditions worked out with Mr. Kane (sorry if I missed something earlier)?

Also, how is the strategic campaign coming along after those huge bombardments at Shikuka?

Cheers,
CC

The VP ratio is still a pitiful .928 to 1. We are playing for standard 2:1 victory points although MrKane did already win an auto victory against me in this game. I also was ready to give up when the P-47 did not significantly dent MrKane's airforce.

Strat bombing will re-start this month. I lost so many 4EB to MrKane's bombardments of Shikuka that I have probably 10 empty squadrons at Pearl.

Late June 1945

In Malaya Nakhon Si Thammarat will likely fall within a few days as another division is moving into the city. The level 9 airfield has not repaired at all since a major bombardment a week ago so likely there is no engineer support.

Saigon has fallen but Cam Rahn Bay is still in supply and about 1100AV.

Troops are trying to reach Chengtu before the division to the west. Actions are going well in the plains but tough elsewhere. I am not going to try to attack Shanghai yet as it has 3200AV and still in supply.

I was beating on Formosa with regular bombardments but let up to mass my battleships against Shanghai. The result was not spectacular so after 4 or so days I gave that up and sailed the battleships back toward Formosa which had repaired.

A few sorties hit my carriers and a few bombers even got through the cap of 1000+ planes with MrKane flying an escort of 100 really good fighter pilots. Luckily none of the sorties did any damage to the fleets.

I have returned and am bombing formosa with all I have. There are about 6-8 fleets hitting all the bases with airfields. I have 4 divisions prepped for the island along with HQ support. My idea now is to get 2 ashore in their respective position and hope that all the air power of the carrier fleet plus all battleships plus my significant LBA can reduce his readiness enough to allow them to win against a division plus some other units.

Landfall is predicted at about 10 days to 2 weeks.

The comprehensive list is too long to bother but here are a few near the end that I cannot pronounce and have not seen before. Also getting a bunch of missiles shot at me.

The race is tight for Chengtu. I face the 17th/B & 17th/C regiments. A division has moved next to the city and is 3-4 turns away from attack. A tank probe attack showed 166AV with 195 adjusted which is a good sign.

In 1-2 turns I have the 46th Indian Brigade and the 7th/A indian division adding 200AV to my stack. Also I plan on doing a coordinated attack where hopefully some paratroops can aid in disruption and AV. Weather has delayed some planning on that op but I only have a short window before I have to contend with that other division and another delay in liberating China.

Bewilderingly, MrKane evacuated Kweiyang 2 turns ago. I have no idea why he would do that as it gives me a lvl 9 airfield right in central China. I was planning on having a bunch of troops go around as it was 1100AV at least. This will help in the long run. My guess is supply problems.

The liberation of Chengtu is known as operation Clown Car. Once successful an impossibly large number of Chinese troops pop out of the city (or Chungking but never liberated that one 1st). All of these troops have 40 morale and 40 training making them basically worthless for anything but garrison and blocking duty.

The Chinese have thanked us by politely requesting all troops leave central and southern China.

The great migration begins.

I literally have a spreadsheet to manage the troop movements.

Wow....just had a chance to catch up on this AAR.
Great scrap from both of you.
If you are worried about points......concentrate on harvesting strategic bombing points....so many to be had.
The air war over Japan at this stage is the key.....I think.

The first Chinese assault of Chungking to liberate the city. Over 14,000 Japanese troops die to 9,000 Chinese. In 3 days another attack will occur. I will circulate 10 new divisions into the city with at least 8 more on the way. Almost all of the divisions have upgraded to 1945 rifle divisions already. It took me a few weeks or so delay to allow that to happen.

???

NF in my game ... and 2x250kg isn't much of a bomber ... that's 1/4 the load out of the allied bombers at that point ... no bomber bonuses to ....
