DEI and PI

The only two functioning bases in the DEI ate Pontianak and Tarakan. The latter is still home to the GVT7 with 2 Do24s.

In the PI only Cebu and Iloilo are left. I am using the BF at Iloilo to ferry Dakotas to India. That probably wont last long.

INDIA



India has largely calmed down. Only the air operations are constant. Everything else is busy digging in and building facilities.

Ledo
-146 and 605 Squadrons (Mohawk Is), and the 3rd and 6th FS (US Mohawks) are busy sweeping Mytkina.
-There are 7 transport squadrons here (3 RAAF, 1 UK, 1 USMC and 2 Dutch) airdropping supplies to those Chinese units south of Mytkina. Its not working too well.

Impal
-24th FG (down to 20 Warhawks), 60 Squardon and 62 Squadron (12 and 16 Blen Is respectively), R1/VI (Dutch recce unit with 7 Falcons).

-20th Indian ID, 1 BF

-67, 243 and 488 Squadrons (Buffalo I) sweeping Mytkina, 242 Squaron (Mohawk I, will transfer to Ledo after reassembly)

No, I'm not going to name every unit in China. [:D]

But heres the situation. I'm about to lose Chengtu. Those are armored units as far as I can tell, and all I have there are 2 BFs. Sian is at 9 fort, Chunking is at about 8 fort at 80% and Yenen is at about 7 fort and 60%.

All my Chinese bombers plus a third of the AVG are are at Chunking and are racking up a surprising amount of XP. At Yenen are another unit of the AVG and 2 Chinese fighter units. A couple more Chinese fighter units are at Sian.

Basically, I am powerless while the KB is still out there. My only solution is to engage the KB. At the moment, the Hornet is about 4 days out of Brisbane. The Indomitable is approaching northern OZ but is very low on fuel. 4 other USN CVs are already in Brisbane with plenty of fuel and supplies. I will wait until all 6 cariers assmeble at Brisbane and will then put to sea in the homes of catching the KB unawares.

That, unfortunately, is what Allied players must deal with. The KB, in the hands of any decent Japanese player, is invincible at least until the second half of 1942. If you must go up against it, I recommend you wait until your USN CV's have over 30 fighters each.

Here, unfortunately, is where the loss of your BB's really hurts. Now would be a good time time bombard some outlying Japanese positions in the Central or Northern Pacific.

Hehe...funy you should mention that. I just sent a few strong corps marshing north. I was waiting for a) Faber to show what he was doing with his other units and b) Chunking forts to reach 9. t will get hairy, but I'm gonna give it a shot.

That wont happen for months and I'm not sure PM can wait that long. Besides, his forrays south into my shipping lanes are annoying. You dont think I can reach my goal with 5 USN CVs and a Brit?

I'd say against a full KB that is fully prepped and ready and considering both sides operate normal strikes. No you will lose in 42.

Well, sh1t, then. So it looks like he can run any op he damn well pleases. My LBA wont go up against him. And even if it does, it wont do much. I cant catch him in a surface engagement...not that I have anything to catch him with. Should I just park my carriers in Fanfran and wait for the jet engine to be perfected?

You are facing the Uber-CAP problem: you don't have planes and pilots either in quantity or quality to get through to attack his CV's. In fairness, Faber will be facing this exact situation come '44.

You do have one advantage. It is unlikely that Faber will challenge two or more sizeable land airbases, if they are within each other's long CAP range. He can't afford to trade carrier pilots and planes against land-based squadrons, since the ground-based guys regenerate much, much faster. This gives you safe areas to retreat to.

For the time, my advice is to "hit him where he ain't". Now that you know where his KB is, find other places that he doesn't want hit. Maybe you can draw the KB off.
