The ground cover improved the look of this game 100%. I am dying to get this update   [:D]

Looks like I am getting Battlefield Academy and the Blitzkrieg France add on today to carry me over

Okay, that Autumn Ambush hereby officially qualifies as a genuine "F*ck me!" moment
(I'll leave it to the readers to figure out exactly what that entails)

Well worth the extra wait.
Now....Release the damn thing!
All this teasing is killing me. [:D]

It's winter....so I'm working on a new winter map. Screen shots possibly later this evening.

Good Hunting.

The lighting can be matched on map and off the map edges if you are trying for an unusual effect. Here I have a scenario that takes place almost at dark. In the snow and at 7 below zero. You know just a typical evening outside Tula, Russia in November.

Reminds me of how our winter has gone so far.

Good Hunting.

Those pine trees are about to start getting hard to see in about another 15 minutes..... and then the fun will really start.

From bright daylight to pitch black there is no lighting situation that you can't simulate using the map editor. I can, and have, adjusted the vision range to be reduced in the dusk light right before dark. You can set the vision range to be whatever you like to adjust for things like dawn, dusk, snow and rain storms, etc.

This is just one of the effects you can get by playing with the lighting alone.

More to come as I build this map.

Good Hunting.

So it gets dark during the battle? Wonderful, really impressive stuff.

actually, the lighting won't change during the battle, though I imagine you could create a short campaign with 2 battles and have it darker for the 2nd battle if you wanted.

Thanks

No, I can set the time period for the battle. Time doesn't progress during the game play of a scenario.

Good Hunting.

This is actually dug into the ground and not just the firing ramp placed on top of the other terrain?

Good Hunting.

That is on the Kolomak map. It is dug into the terrain. The tanks are below ground mesh level.
It does require some extra work with a mesh editor like FragMotion or AutoDeskMax.

I notice you have the vehicle number on that Panther as well. Do all the tanks in a platoon have the same number like we are used to seeing in other games? You make one Panther model with the vehicle number on the side and they all have that number???

Good Hunting.

No, each individual vehicle has its own decal ranging from tac numbers through to whatever else the vehicle designer has allowed like kill rings, insignia, etc.
