Axis impulse 5 July/August 44 ( impulse # 10 ) Fine

German remnants are retreating as fast as they can in Russia, now nearing the Polish and Rumanian borders with a few units.

In the West the Italians are now backed to their Border and Germany has abandoned Belgium with a couple of remaining units into Germany itself.

The turn did not end. There are massive German reinforcements arriving for the next turn but it may be too late.

Allies impulse 6 July/August 44 ( iimpulse # 11 )

The Allies continue pushing hard in rance and in Russia.

The German border has been pierced in the West. Arnhem taken by CW units and Brussels and Liege by US troops.

Russians took Vitebsk and Pskov and Kiev. Only a few German units left in Russia now.

Turn did not end.

The Germans have collapsed. Many German cities now in Allied control and The Russians have retaken Minsk in the north.
In Ukraine the Russians have reached the Rumanian border and there are only a couple of Axis units available to defend.

wow, that's an incredible amount of casualties, I cant even see how that is possible.

7 impulses in fine weather with 4 US O-chits and 1 CW O-chit added to massive power against a crumbling defender. Many German planes were overrun and lost after they had flown. Other units were caught with no retreat possibilities and were lost instead of retreated or shattered. Both the West and East fronts had such calamities for the Germans

In this game, losing some flavor due to being solitaire, I did not pay enough attention to Italy so it is quite strong in summer of 44. I should have fought it in Africa and Mid east in 40 and 41 to stop it from getting the Iraq and Persia oil.

The CW had enough Transports built so it could have opposed Italy early on.

The USA had sufficient Transports to do a Europe first strategy but they should have had more for the Pacific than they did have. The campaign against Japan, although going well at the end, did not have enough strength in the Pacific to pursue the NEI and Philippines until mid 44.

Germany should have retreated quicker from the far away parts of Russia and shortened their front there before it became too late to hold anything.

I am amazed that there are still hits on this AAR after more than 2 months with no additional data entries.

Hmm, well I am quite new here, I skimmed through it but it is impressive how the Germans collapsed in that turn.
The amount of losses is ... leaving me speechless.

The last turn had 7 fine weather Allied impulses and 1 CW, 3 USA, and 1 Russian Offensive chits were expended. Many German units were left OOS and disorganized, planes overrun and the units killed with overwhelming odds.

I got that ... and by the looks it is not something abnormal I suspect.
The USA can pratically produce O-Chits on a firm streak with that production they have. And nothing or little prevents them to throw all of their potential in Europe and just keep the Japanese honest - I fear.

This AAR was finished in April, more than half a year ago, and no new data has been added to the AAR since then.

Several thousand hits on this AAR have been made since that time.

I would like to hear from the viewers what the continued interest may be. Answers may help to improve any future AARs.
