Sorry if this has been asked before and I know that this isn't really the place to ask, but as Larry is the D21 Meister and TPOO looks at this thread a lot I thought I'd get an answer quickly.
I know that this is billed as an Axis Human vs Soviet PO ONLY game but is it at all possible to play as a PBEM game or is there a lack of TO's etc. for the Sovs that puts the mockers on that happening?

Larry, does units with Do 17 have been removed?
I would think so, but prefer to know. They could go away turn 37.
I'm on T69 right now and there's still one squadron still flyin the Do-17 and it's
got all it's aircraft and it's in good shape.

General Patton and I started a game as PBEM and as far as I know it CAN be done but
I've got a vague memory of some problem with it and I think it has a balancing problem
when it's done PBEM. And you'd have to start the game with the Soviets as the PPO and
stop the Russians when it's their turn and convert it to a human player when it's the
first Soviet turn because there's a bunch of turn one events that have to be triggered
on turn one.

Here's a view of the corner of the northern front lines and you can see some of the
Soviet units that I'm facing and there's probably some Soviet units that we can't see
there as well. And they aren't moving any closer. I'm still waiting for some
significant contact but so far nothing. I'll just wait.

Cheers Larry.
Hey there IainF dude. Thanks for your interest and you enccuragement you provide
when you post, when one of you guys post. It let's me know that somebody is reading
this thing and I'm not just going through the motions.
In about T60 or so I got hit by the great Soviet Winter Offensive and the collapse
of my supply lines simultaneously and it overwhelmed my dudes and the Soviets made
several breakthroughs and the front line ccllapsed so I started a general pullback
to the positions I occupy right now and I've been waiting for something from the
Soviets but so far they haven't made any significant contact. I'm waiting for spring
and better weather.

No problem Larry. I will be making a start of this great scenario (again!) in a couple of days and the tips you give have been very useful the past few times I've started (here's hoping that no even newer versions get released in the next month so I have to start again, again!).
Its also good to gauge how others get on against Elmer over the same period of time. You never know I might even try doing my own AAR although I'm already spending too much time playing TOAW which I should really be using to make a dent in the unpainted figures and models I have to do!

I stopped the Soviet turn and zoomed out and asked for all the objectives and to my
horror I discovered that in only a couple of places will the Soviets come close to
my lines and that the troopers in the middle have nothing to fear. They will be
out of a job. I'm free to move them elsewhere. Not much of a game left. So I'm
going to terminate this one and start a new AAR: "The Sun Also Rises".

Looking at those tracks, I'd say Elmer's limited to attempting something approaching the historical winter offensive except for where you've advanced beyond the historical front line.

I've already started a new AAR for the restarted game I'm doing and Steve and Rick both
posted an explaination for the tracks ending short.....there's multiple tracks for the
objectives and the game uses a different track for the different periods of the game.
I'm looking at the track one objectives and the track with the Berlin objectives is
track 11 or some other number. So I quit when I didn't have to but the game was spiked
by the Soviet Winter Offensive anyway so it's fine.
