Listen everyone, Im sorry but I meant for these pictures to be of the same frame so we could get a sweet overlook of the operations troughout but with my new location and my using a laptop now, I couldnt get the same height in the game, weirdly enough, so the last picture doesnt match 100% accuracy to the others, you can see the unit squares are bigger than previous ones and we can see less of the map. And well that pisses me off but it is what it is. Hope you can still enjoy them.

No problem, this is stirring stuff. Somebody needs to get writing Organised Chaos: The Operational History of Operation Mercury.

Question to those reading the AAR :

I always notice when the AAR goes onto another page mid-AAR, the new page always has much more views. Even if people are missing half the AAR, you still won't click on the previous page to see what happened before, on other Fronts. For exemple here, you can see the first there's 99 views, and the previous page has 40 views, so only 40 people saw From Northern Front to mid-Southern Front. They only saw like... 20% of the AAR.

Why is that ?

Im wondering if Im putting too much details and if I should just focus on doing an overview of North ,Center, South, instead of going Front by Front and sometimes ( in Operations ) Battlegroups per Battlegroups. So a little bit of clarity on that would help me understand and tailoring the AAR better.

I always go back to the start of the new post. This forum doesn't make that simple, there are forums where it remembers where I was on the thread years later. So I wouldn't discount the possibility that it is just a quirk of the software.

Great to see another update!
FYI when I clicked on the link in the After Action Reports screen, it took me into the latest set about half way down, not to the last post or the first. Perhaps due to the time it takes for the images to load up. So some users may be unaware that they are missing posts.

That's strange, it takes me to the very first post. Thanks for the feedback tho but these people should just go back to page 1 and ready it all in one go 8-)

And yeah wow, it is one big hassle to do these AAR with a laptop. This is why they're becoming once a week or so now. Can't wait to get back home to my desktop station and pump AAR every day haha.

Operation Mercury

As for Operation Mercury,

I think it is a big success. Lots of armor divisions are threatening further advances but so far I think all Assault Groups will be able to achieve their objectives. We have suffered quite a lot of losses in our decoy Operation in the North but from the comments Im getting from the German player, it seems like he thinks this was a real operation. So that was a success as well.

The enemy seems to think he can still win by attrition. Which I say... Nuts !

Don Front coming right from under the German defense at Kharkov is probably going to be the Hammer to my Sickle. If Don Front pushes quite a lot, Im thinking of bringing Gr. Vasilevsky & Rokossovsky to try to reach Don Front in a pincer manoeuver while Vatutin and 17th Army (who is currently on mop-up operations) take over their positions.

This would most likely get the Germans to retreat significantly from the area.

Our other Fronts are a bit weak but I am currently building lots of Infantry Corps and re-directing reinforcements towards the Central and Northern Fronts. I am also building a reserve of capable Infantry corps. During the rest of Winter, political points will be used to build more and more of these Inf. Corps. as reserve units.

Im interested to see if the Germans will attack this summer or keep on the defensive.
