Yeah, that just leaves two questions:

- How does this synch up with another recent survey that claimed Danes were the happiest people in the world?

- Why are we wasting our time even looking at these meaningless lists?

Are "we" intimating that something the UN does is meaningless? I'm shocked...appalled even. [:-] [:'(]

Has anyone here read,
Fading Victory: The Diary of Admiral Matome Ugaki, 1941-1945 (Paperback)
by Katherine V. Dillon?

It looks interesting but I know nothing about this author or the quality of the translation.

Egad, that's some serious reading John.

Well I really enjoyed reading Hara's Japanese Destroyer Captian so I've been looking for other translated works. Like Hara's book this is published by Naval Institute Press (at least in English), so I'm inclined to get it. I just wondered if anyone was familiar with it.

Evening Leo.  How goes things.  Last time we chatted you were training - can't recall the course.

Last time we heard from you the employment ship was nosing over into a death sp iral. Any update on that?
Need I say more? [:D]

I just finished managing a new release of our flight dynamics modeling tool kit. That may have been the fastest, most shoot from the hip project I've ever managed. due to a lack of resources and IMHO questionable business needs. Thankfully, I think we did ok...somehow. [8|] I also finished getting my PMP for whatever that's worth. I'm now beating the streets pretty hard for work. I just got my first "interview" line up and I'm learning the fine art of BSing...I mean networking through LinkeIn. ;)

Personally my mood is swinging from shear panic and terror at the thought of finding a job in this economy to giddy excitement over the prospect of some much needed change.

Chris, I think you are on the right track, for sure! [:)] It's not a loss, it's a change, and all change is stressful, but can be liberating. Keep that great attitude, carry it around with you on your interviews, and you will have people competing for your services. [8D]

- Why are we wasting our time even looking at these meaningless lists?

Why do we look at anything that is essentially ubiquitous? Because it is there....

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you THE THREAD!!! [:D]

To the Thread! May it always be strong until the bitter end. (Yes, I know only ropes have bitter ends but the phrase seemed apt)[:D]
