Thanks Damian....so how do I delete the database? Boy - that sounds like a dumb question...
I deleted the data file and started tracker - and it wouldn't complete loading. Do I need to delete the backup file as well?

Delete all of the trackerdb.* files (usually four of them, but can be more depending on how the program last ended).

After some fiddling about, I can get a new game as Japanese loaded.

However, there are no regions assigned and I can't successfully import one of the existing sets either. I think the issue is caused by the base names which have all generated in some weird wing dings type font so as to be unrecogniseable as when I try and load a set of regions I get errors saying base names not found or not matching etc.

Anyone got any ideas?

Which region definition are you importing?

Are you sure you're using the right pwsdll.dll file? If you're running the beta, copy the pwsdll.dll from the Beta2 folder to the WitPtracker folder (over-write what's there), delete the DB files again and try once more.

Thanks for the help. The advice around getting the dll from the beta folder cleared everything up and this runs smoothly now.

To be honest, Guys, this is the best user made utility I've seen since I started computer gaming in the early 90s. It's practically a game in itself and I'd echo IdahoNYer's comments about this piece of kit taking the game to a new level. The global chart is a superb visual representation of the economy and even the simpler things like the plane comparison have been a huge help and time saving.

Reading through recent folk's troubles I, eventually, fixed the problems with steps delineated here except I had done a clean install wiping all my previous stored info. That said, which Map Region do I use? There is no default listed nor is that on the webpage. I picked the "-6" one and I am getting name differential errors. i.e. Base 1498 name of <sipora> not match the name in the import file <Sipora Island>

You can create one yourself. Or edit one of the ones that don't work. But they're really mod-dependent. With Stock scenarios, try Floyd_Region_File_Scen1.txt.

Ok...I finally bought this game. Installed without a problem...downloaded a couple of helpful utilities including Tracker.

After a week I have a question (the first of many I'm sure) that I cannot find the answer for. In Tracker there is a column titled "Cargo/(F/H)" and for the life of me I can't seem to determine what it is

It's fuel/hex -- but its a little misleading cause it is number just to compare efficiency of cargo / fuel / hex...

I am trying to load the turns from my current game one by one into the game and thus load them into tracker by loading the turn after that. It seemed to be working well up through 30 days. I read up until turn 40 and it was ok until I saved and quit. When I tried to restart I am getting a memory error. I can go back and re-load the 30 turns and it works again.

What switch or other action do I need to take to eliminate this memory error?

Bump up each of the Xms and Xmx values by 64 or 128 increments. You can also add a -nomap parameter which frees up memory (but gets rid of the map function).

Ive read the last few pages of this thread but I could not figure out the definitive answer to if well see a Java 7 version or not in the future? If there is one in development, when will we be able to use it?

Ok, after the memory fix I decided to go back and start loading more turns. Have 40 saved and about 230 to go.

The program loads the first 40 turns without an problem but as I go to read the next turn I get this error.

Looks like a problem with the pwsdll.dll. Did you change to a different release of the beta or something along the way?

Possibly. Is there a fix?

Basically, to read a turn, you must be running Tracker with the same .dll that the turn was created with. So if you can figure that out it's a matter of copying in the right one at the right time and restarting Tracker each time you change .dll files.

My memory is not what it once was and so I figured that I would give this nifty little program a whirl. However, I
am not having any luck getting it to run, and I have no clue what the problem is. Here is what I do know. I'm running
windows 8.1 and java 6. ( I forget the version of java that I downloaded )
