Two points:
1.  section 15.5 of the manual indicates that all the past-due British reinforcements will appear at Bombay or Karachi, whichever he takes.  I can't say from experience if this is true for Bombay, but it is for Karachi.
2. the game ends April 1, 1946.  April 2 is the victory screen.

Hm, 2nd of April - that gives Andy another month. Not good.
Tried to find this explicit date in the manual, but couldn't.
It's also uncertain what effect the recapture of Bombay would have, so I'm not taking any chances.
Let's make it a fortress with at least 1200 AV. Should be enough.

Fish already id'd the carrier Jeff, not seen any color shots of the Ark going down.

Not much to report today. I'm continuing preparations and bringing more base units, coastal defense units
and LCUs into the interior in preparation of the big upcoming battles.

I took another look at the map and studied the area of Shmizu - Hamamatsu (this is the name mentioned by Nemo
which I mistook for Takamatsu). Another clear area that requires extensive fortifications [8|]
These areas can easily be reinforced by rail from the Tokyo Osaka/Kobe area. Will send some armored units to the area.

I'm sure I'm over-reacting, as you two have had a legendary game,[&o][&o] but ...at this point, I'd rather see more honorable behavior.

I just took a look, but erm... From what I can see, it would be rather about someone giving info to PzB in here, and someone else telling Mac that someone gave this info, isn't it somethin' like that?

It's a bit complicated to say the least.
Andy heard that some of his plans may have been revealed on this AAR - but this turned out not really to be the case.
Still the potential leaks caused enough disruption to cause a reloading of the invasion fleet.

Not sure what I think of it really, Andy is honorable and isn't doing anything wrong.
Still I don't have to like it. In RL rumors and leaky intel caused plenty of trouble and confusion.
No one liked that either [8|]

Today Andy went after the stronghold of Amami and attempted to destroy the CAP there.
Little did he know that he would meet the biggest concentration of Shindens so far deployed in the war.

Despite of having the usual control over the elements and succeeding in sending out 2 sweeps in bad weather
before his hoards of B-29s the fight was a great victory against the heaviest odds [&o]

Magnificent Lightnings!

Enemy didn't return to Amami today - our 680 engineers have opened the runaway
and service levels are on their way up.

Will Andy challenge us again?
Will he dare to invade Home Islands outside Mustang range?

Today 7 fully laden transports sped from the Bonins and towards Tokyo were they will
arrive tomorrow. Our garrisons are getting stronger and the last weak links are reinforced.
Anoter 2 Coastal Defence units have moved to Hamamatsu and Shmizu.

Most of the Northern bases are all mountainous, there is only one clear hex that will receive
more troops.

In Hiroshima I'm still keeping a full armored division - uncertain whether to move it to Osaka area,
keep it at Hiroshima or send it to Shikoku. Maybe it will stay were it is, it can move to any threatened
area in short time and is a handy mobile reserve.

Ok, the enemy has been spotted moving out from Luzon again.
Within a week all hel1 will be turning loose...again. And this time I can't see
that it'll stop anything soon unless we stop em cold.

There are 2 possibilities:
1. We disrupt the enemy so much that he fails to capture his target(s).
2. We hurt the enemy fleets so much that any base captured cannot be supplied.

The third option isn't really an option [:'(]

Have to think about how to use the Navy and AF most efficiently and come up with a plan.

Convoy of Sumatra attacked by LBA

An old S class sub was hit by a Judy and sank south of Osaka.
Another sub has been reported hit and an AD sunk of Ishieak.

Have finished re-organizing the AF and pulled back from Amami. Don't wish
enemy P-51s to sweep us from Luzon. Enemy casualties should be 4Es or CAG units.

All operational surface units are being gathered for a last effort against the enemy.
The Submarine fleet will also be concentrated. It can lay last minute minefields and hunt down
crippled ships.

The carrier Taiho and her escorts will be kept apart from the surface fleet and operate in a raider
role.

The Yamato stopped repairing at 17 sys damage. After 5 days no repairs have been performed.
I just don't understand how repairs are performed, because the port must have generated enough repair
points to repair at least 1 sys damage per day. Same in Tokyo, Taiho is at 15 sys and has remained so
for days without any other ships requiring repairs. Tokyo alone should be able to do better than this.
This is depressing in a time when no more ships are being produced.

Recon Reports

As you can see it looks like an enemy invasion fleet is gathering.
On the other hand the dispersion of enemy fleets is a bit strange.

If this really is the invasion fleet - can we say anything about were it is going.
Could it be a decoy - and what preparations should we do.

Can we sit out for another few days and await the enemy moves?
I think this would be the best solution. Pull back our ships and troops and let Andy
get closer before taking any action.

i think this is not a trick. He is going to land somewhere, but will he land on Amami?

That's what it looks like - since he's staging of Ishieak the goal should be Kyushu area.
I'm moving a inf and a pz div towards Kyushu.

The amount of engineers in the Okinawas can keep the airfields open unless B-29s pound them daily.
The question is when and were to send in our air force. We cannot deploy prematurely - only landings in
the most critical Home Island bases will trigger an all out effort. We still got the last 5-6 months to go
and need to keep a reserve.

Ok $hit is just about to hit the fan here!

Invasion Fleet Forming Up

It is too early to move your reserves. Just keep them equidistant from Shikoku and Kyushu for now. Once he starts to land you'll know where to move them. Right now all your movement will do is probably add another 2 or 4 days of additional movement IF you guess wrong. Since it'll take him a while to move slowly into position ( he can't race in as then stragglers will fall behind and be left uncapped )  unload such a mammoth force you can afford to not move until such time as you have a better idea where he's going.
 
Hold back, keep the reserve in being, once it is committed you are committed, keep your freedom of decision and action for as long as possible.

It was not a 'full deployment' of reserves Nemo - I simply moved the into Kyushu in order to be able to move to
threatened bases 2 days earlier than if the target is Shikoku. If enemy ships move towards Shikoku we will be able to divert them.
Have to move by air and sea anyway.

It is also dangerous to move prematurely in case Andy feints first - but that may be difficult with such a huge fleet.

I'm not really in a position to exploit the potential uncovered TF. Then I have to turn a lot of bombers on naval attack
and they will most likely attack the most well protected targets. So I have prepared a plan for how to best exploit enemy
weaknesses while optimizing our own resources.

The only truly good thing is that Andy doesn't have any bases within fighter range of the Home Islands.
Ishieak is still size 1, me thinks it takes forever to build a size 0 base to size 2 [:D]
Read a thread on the forum were it was said that it doesn't help to increase the number of engineers beyond a certain number.
This makes sense, some of the best programming in regards to land combat in WitP that I've heard about for a while.

I'm still considering whether it is worth committing the Taiho or not.
It's our last carrier and she can do a valuable job as a raider and threatened enemy weak spots when fully repaired
(currently at 15 sys). She can also go down in a blaze of glory while delivering a torrent of kamikaze units.

Been reading Andys thread against Pauk since Pauk stopped posting and I know that he will most likely deploy his fleet carrier along with a CVL and CVEs. Since most our bombers will target the carriers it will be a waste of resources to throw them all in again a full strength target since the troops will most likely get ashore anyway. Our prime objective will therefore be to save our best naval bombers and wear down enemy CAG strength and fleet AA ammo, thus making them more vulnerable in the long run. Andy will have to run in reinforcements and supplies as well.

So I agree with your assessment about holding back reserves Nemo.
Let's wait Andy out and let him play his cards before showing our ace of spades [;)]

Obviously, your striking ability is limited since your fighters don't seem to want to escort. What you need is some way for his CAG to come to you so you can burn it out. Do you have a way where you feel your CAP fighters can be insured of engaging his CAG enmasse?
 
Alternatively, take several datais of fighters, set them to escort, and then set one small sentai of bombers to naval attack. This way, if you are lucky, you will get a large number of escorts while only sacrificing a few bombers. If the fighters fail to escort in large numbers, then you still only lose a small number of bombers.

Remember to have at least a single sub in the same hex as where the big airbattles will take place, this will give you a 50/50 chance of having your pilot rescued.
 
You could always try the "sacrificiall lamb" method. Creating a single ship TF in a harbour hex and then CAP it with everything you have got...  

In the Home Islands there are so many big air bases and so much aviation support that I hope
to be able to field a more potent striking force then before - but I'm not all to confident about this.

I checked and Black Widdows on sweep missions can reach 3 bases in Kyushu.
600 B-29s will be able to reach almost any base in the western part of the Home Islands.

So our ability to put up a major defensive posture against enemy CAG depends on were Andy invades.
The further east he goes the less support he will get.

Sending a lot of fighters to escort a few bombers is not so effective though, enemy CAP is lethal when we attack.
A more effective approach is to LRCAP the target area from many surrounding bases.
An even better one is to sweep the enemy target hex and then send in our bombers.

I got some 500 quasi trained Reppu and Zeke kamikazes standing by.
Another batch of FB and level bombers is also available and I'm planning to dispatch hundreds of float planes
and low exp bombers on kami missions as well as soon as enemy CAP dissipates above the invasion fleets.
Ca 1000 LBA are also available and they have received intensive training for some time.

Must expect every sub in the same hex as the invasion fleet to be lost, but it can save a lot of important pilots for the Empire!

Andy is very careful about sending his CAGs against single ships - burned his fingers before.
But we can certainly play on this card by sending out our own carrier and surface elements and thus forcing him to deploy
more strike ac.
