I am not sure that this is correct. Although I do know what we call a fjord might not actually be one in a geological sense.
Here is a picture of what I think is a geological fjord, and I am pretty sure that it isn't the one that you are referring to as the one we have.

Here is a picture of what I think is a geological fjord, and I am pretty sure that it isn't the one that you are referring to as the one we have.
That looks like the Saguenay River in Québec, Canada. One of the parks people there claimed it is one of the few true fjords in North America.
