Well with the loss of so many CVs I now have no ability to project power beyond the Islands that I currently hold within the Pacific.  And THAT rules out my plans for invading the Home Islands.....which is that ONLY way that I was ever going to catch up.  
India is quickly falling into a stalemate with the LCUs not able to force the issue  I have control of the air but only over my front lines.  
Australia is also at a stalemate.  I am not able to move any forces into PNG as there is simply now way to cover the force from Jap air attacks. Nor do I have any air bases from which to cover a land attack against Darwin so my holdings are limited to the East coast and around to South Oz.

At some point within the next month or so I will have to sue for peace as there is no way that the allies can hope to force any type of result.  (Honda is just over 70K in points while I am around 23K.)

I am now only playing for Honda's pleasure (he has worked and gamed hard for this moment and he does deserve it !).


For what it is worth we started this game back in August'06, and Honda has proved to be one of the hardest JFB players that I have yet locked horns with.
He also has been a committed player and always delivered on turns (we averaged two moves per day). I pity the next poor bugger that takes him on.

Here's a bit of a flashback into days 2 and 3 of the Mother of all Battles...This is where the most damage actualy occured.

There, this is where it more or less ended. The final losses are, from my perspective, 7 CVs, 9 CVLs (the whole Independence class), 5 CVEs. Of relevance, 4 modern USN cruisers are also sunk. IJN losses are 0! I have one DD damaged heavily, one slightly and one damaged CL. CVL Ryujo took two bomb hits, but is in very good condition (25sys). My CVs are returning to home port, as for the rest, Raver has given a quite accurate description. Those threedays have been just amazing, giving me a victory I hardly thaught possible. As for Raver's words about his reasons for continuing this game, I'll have to have a long private talk with him.

Honda...i have no words...this is amazing!! Never tought this KB vs. DS was possible....you've played a simply perfect match! Hat's off![&o][&o]

Holy cow! We all struggle to sink ships; Honda sinks classes of ships.

Horrifying... The most interesting thing would be to have an account on how things led to that battle..

I believe it is simple yet difficult to pull off : Honda hiding the KB for 2 years, Raver going forward slowly, getting a bit bored, using his CVs for the pleasure of playing with them hitting here and there and being caught with the pants down...

Perfectly human... Poor Raver... You have lost 50 000 sailors in 2 days..

Great match guys. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience!

Those of you who know me for the Uncommon Valour days will remember the games that Luskan and I fought out....one game he would win, and another game i would win.....I think we played a total of 7 UV games with me 4 up to his 3.  bacause it takes so long to play WiTP my games have been much slower....IIRC my score is two wins, one game stopped because of bug issues and now this huge loss. 

I have learned a lot from playing Honda and must say that I almost feel sorry for the next JFB that I play because he is going to cop ALL the lessons learnt.
I have not kept up this AAR nearly as much as i would have liked (you all know from my other AARs that I tend to be a bit more active) but every day life has made the effort of daily up dates impossible.

But now for the GOOD news..........I am looking for a JFB to the up-coming WiTP AE......any takers?  [:)]

Well played there, guys! My hat's off to Honda for a masterful war of conquest.

I think that carrier strike on Truk was the decisive factor - Raver had lost a lot of experienced Hellcat pilots there. I wonder how the carrier battle might have played out had he not lost those valuable pilots in the earlier raids. But then again... all those Japanese carriers... wow! Makes me glad that this wasn't how the real war played out!
