Oh, OF COURSE I read the book. It was the best thing I have ever read on the modern steel skyscraper.

I'm re-reading Carlo D'Este;s biography of Patton.

Next on the list is Tom Ricks' new book on American generals.

One chapter in and so far so good. I understand this book looks at the whole naval aspect - not just the Grand Fleet vs The High Seas Fleet.

About what caused the downfall of the greatly anticipated Edgar Rice Burroughs film adaptation of "A Princess of Mars" a book published 100 years ago and was the foundation for Star Wars and Avatar. A very interesting look at what goes into promotion of films. In this case Disney really dropped the ball and completely under promoted this film.

To complement the above, I am reading The Pity of War by Niall Ferguson. I like his work, but having read the introduction, I wonder if he is being too clever for his own good here [:(]

Just ordered Vol2 Other side of the Wire by Ralph Whitehead..Vol 1 was on the bets Military History reads I've ever experienced. The research is astounding. Been waiting for Vol 2 for ages and asked for a early birthday pressie! Only 750 are published and all numbered and signed. Though Vol 1 will be coming out in paperback this year for anyone interested.

Worth every penny..even in paper back for Vol1..seriously a must buy if you have any interest in WW1 from the German soldier and how a Corps fought and died from the start of the War until the first day of the Somme..loved it. Vol 1 and anything buy Jack Sheldon or Jason D Marks are must reads for me (Just Jason's books are so expensive..but damn Island of Fire is worth every penny and I'm sure the other books he has written are..I really want the one on Cholm and his next book all about a German Pioneer battalions war experience).

So go pre order Vol 1 in paperback..seriously the research and detail alone is worth every penny.

Lord Hornblower, next is Admiral Hornblower, then hopefully the next Honor Harrington book will be out, then hopefully the conclusion to the Kingkiller Chronicles will be out.

Zionism, Militarism and the Decline of US Power

The Other side of the Wire Vol2 by Ralph Whitehead has arrived so just started that. I will say again no other book except possibly Jason D Marks books comes close for research. It even comes with a DVD of all German casualties from 1st July 1916 as Mr Whitehead is the worldwide expert on German casualties and the research he has put in is mind boggling.

Just started Ring, Koji Suzuki. Really good and very creepy.
