FWIW:

The CVs near the Celebes reads as 3 CVs to me (~270 aircraft). Did you get a read on which units were there? Not that there's any real difference in the durability of the USN CVs... The Lexingtons are a bit hardier, but not by much.

The other TF reads as Wasp + a full size CV (~160 aircraft).

No but I'll have some empirical evidence to show about them from the next turn when I get caught up.

9/19/42 Here you can see where his carriers escaped to. That was quite the rout. Apparently Raiden is a wienie.



Obviously CVEs could not have covered that distance (unless they were really scared). So even his proud CVs are easily routed at the slightest suggestion of a battle.

His carrier support from the Wake (me up I think I'm dreaming) operation appears to be lost, they're wandering around aimlessly.
