Army Group B Turn 69

South of Stalingrad the Romanians and 1st Pz destroy the pockets as the bad weather closes in.

Have almost reached Grozny as the enemy is driving back into the mountains.

lack of supplies is hampering my efforts to cross the mountains.

Slowly the Italians move along the coast.

Supply / leaders Turn 69

Ground supplies have finally gone into the red but I am not worried to much and even the Air supply situation has improved.

A surprise for this game a Soviet air leader has died makes a change though they did lose there Southwestern Front leader

Losses / Ob Turn 69

Another 110,000 casualties and over 200 AFV's destroyed.
Modest air losses for the Soviets this turn.

AG Centre Turn 70

First off as to AG North its basically static with the Soviets shuffling troops around but doing nothing so rather than bore anyone with it I will skip things till some action starts.

Back to the centre

Destroyed the pocket with the Artillery Div in it quite enjoyable doing it.
Like wise the pocket further South.


Now I just have to wait for targets of opportunity.

Army Group A Turn 70

Almost secured the Lipetsk / Stalingrad rail line and making inroads with the Tambov line.

The Southern pincer of the Stalingrad attack moves closer, only Inf attacks North, resting the Panzers.

Army Group B Turn 70

Not much movement South of Stalingrad resting up my troops again.

At Grozny I have moved the bulk of 1st Pz down to encircle the city, it should fall in the next turn or two.

Down on the coast its seem the Soviets are abandoning the area.

AG North & Centre Turn 71

With heavy rain and mud right across the map its just a static front line, so I will condense these reports up its boring enough as it is.

Its now a snails pace to Stalingrad, have all but secured the northern rail link to Stalingrad. Not much better further South.

OB / Weather Turn 71

Well they have broken the 3 million barrier due to no fighting.
Thought I would show the weather map to see why everything has stopped.

Have not showed my supply network for some time and as can be seen its not great in some places specially in the South.

Time to get out the cards and play some SNAP as nobody is going anywhere soon.

Stalemate across the front only on the coast is there any movement.

Snow

A few over eager Red units get to close to my lines so they get punished.
In the centre likewise happens to the intruders who get to close.
But good news North Moscow falls.

The change of weather gives me a chance to recommence general attacks towards Stalingrad.
Further South its still quiet, just bidding my time.

Well with attacks in the South against the Stalingrad defenders and the defensive counterattacks along the front just under 100,000 causalities are recorded against the enemy.

given this is 8 November you really should have delayed that a week - just to stress how well you are doing

AG North & Centre Turn 74

Once again virtually no Action here on the Northern front.

In the Centre pretty much of the same.

Army Group A Turn 74

4th Armee begins its drive to secure the Tambov / Balashov rail line.

The encirclement of Stalingrad begins, the Red Army just do not seem to have the numbers to hold the Ostheer back.

Army Group B Turn 74

A series of heavy attacks drives the Grozny defenders back and 1st Pz Armee encircles the oil producing centre.

The Italians have almost reached Batumi, this will give complete control of the Black Sea to The AXIS.

Losses / OB and Events Turn 74

Modest numbers in losses this week as I attempted to just bludgeon the enemy out of the way.
OB's for both sides now on a even par.

Bad news on The North Africa Front.

The AXIS forces have failed to defeat the The Western Allies at El Alamein and the Allies have landed in North West Africa.

Still I can achieve my stated goal of this AAR as long as I secure my Objectives and defeat Russia before the Allies capture the whole of the Middle East.
