Russia selling SU-35s to Iran. Other sources say its pretty much a done deal. This one just had more detail.

Interesting report by Benjamin Pittet, China is expanding its military facilities in the Lop Nur desert. Or The octogon

Will have to adjust a couple scenarios. Last year I built a hypothetical scenario with J-16s from China sent to Iran. I was off a little on it.

Excellent resource containing extremely precise location of Chinese radar/ESM sites. https://jjamwal.in/yayavar/chinese-arme ... -and-sams/

Concerning this, I've been mapping out all of these individual sites in CMO with SASPlanet ignoring only sites which appear to be abandoned. China has an overwhelming amount of "Domes" or "Rad Domes" scattered across the country. I find it difficult to believe all of these are functional radars given there are well over two hundred of these "Domes" scattered about in addition to well over 100 easily identifiable installations. Does anyone have any experience or any insight on what could be hiding under these "Domes"? To my best ability, they are impossible to positively identify via satellite imagery.

Exmples:
44°20’23.89″N
129°53’5.91″E
-
44°18’49.60″N
131°12’11.62″E

I'd suggest posting this in the importing facilities thread...

https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 3&t=329746

That thread used to be pretty active on fleshing out orbats and such. That way you can apply what is found out directly to the game and scenario design.

There is also a github maintained by cmo discord users that has units, zones and lua scripts.

Interesting platforms

One Gambit is to be configured to carry both air-to-air and / or air-to-ground weapons to support air superiority sweeps and strike packages. Another Gambit aircraft has a low-observable design coupled with mission systems to augment strike packages with enhanced capabilities in the radio frequency spectrum. A third aircraft is dedicated to long-endurance intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance to build and maintain battle space awareness to support manned and unmanned inbound strike packages. And finally, because air superiority begins with the training and qualification of expert human pilots, one Gambit model is a dedicated aggressor, for use in weapons school and similar environments to sharpen air combat skill.
Image

Each aircraft is roughly 70 percent common, with a universal core similar to the practices within automaking: once a car manufacturer assembles a frame, chassis, wheelset and other components, it can head down one production line to become a family sedan or down another to become a luxury model with a different interior. So too with Gambit, making each model simpler and less costly to produce.

In November, for example, a company-owned MQ-20 Avenger unmanned jet proved it could detect and track airborne targets while meshed with a number of other real and virtual aircraft. Before that, an Avenger demonstrated a number of groundbreaking autonomous capabilities in a “chase and avoid” exercise with real-time updates from infrared search-and-track sensors. Before that, one real Avenger and five simulated software aircraft worked together via artificial intelligence and machine learning to prove out their search and defense capabilities. And so on.

A bet the PE can show how the extra missiles are worth the the effort. Or can it?

You don't need PE. The block 4 F-35s in the db already can carry 6 AMRAAMs and JATMs internally. I think thats what the article is talking about. I also noted that the block 4 might not be ready until 2029. The 2025 date in the db might be optimistic.

Thanks for the tip. Not surprised the DB anticipated the 6 SAM. Just wondering what type of scenario would prove to the USAF and bean counters that the effort i$ worth it tactically. I think that is part of the utility of the PE. There has to be other upstream effects than merely placing 2 more missiles on the A/C. For me, the more the merrier. Those that have to execute the program might groan a bit.

I don't think its much to do with anticipation. The block 4 has been in the DoD budget since 2021. The block 4 also has some significant upgrades in radar and EW that might be more significant than two extra missiles. If it works as planned.

Has the Russian submarine threat been diminished by the Ukraine war?

And nice pics of the submarine.

Supposedly a Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic ballistic missile was shot down the 4th of May over Kiev by the Ukrainian ADs, using a Patriot system. There is a following information war, true or fake?

PAC-3 and LTAMDS are cited.

Anyway, may it be simulated in CMO. Anyone tried?
