That is the replacement rate. New units show up in bunches too. Still, that rate of loss is not sustainable
If I recall, there are about 30 squadrons of the first b29 with between 7 and 10 planes each, and the 2nd b29 starts rolling in with new squadrons in Nov or Dec. Nov I think.
not to rain on the parade but in truth the allies have almost unlimited 4E bombers to throw at you...you just need to keep shooting them down and not let them break your fighter back or destroy your industry without extracting a price.
the power of the b29 is their range as they stretch your fighter defenses leaving you vulnerable to the shorter range 4E beasties. Wait till he uses the deathstar to sweep during the day followed by 4E daytime raids. Very devastating....
A lot of players don't take advantage of the tweak in the last official patch which makes carrier raids much more easier to pull off. You can now target a city before your carriers are in range-allowing for a fast undetected run in to hit a oil center or lightly defended industrial target. What with the number of planes he can throw at you-backed by replenishment groups a 200 fighter CAP could easily be overwhelmed. Don't know whey he does not try it. I would. Likewise he could run in a carrier groups and send sweepers and long range CAP at a target to support a B29 raid in daylight. Daylight raids if they hit home will pretty much one shot a target. One thing is sure in this mod, you can't bomb without good fighter support. He could put 300 fighters over a target and still have massive CAP over his carriers.
Not only that, but the carrier sweepers can sweep past 8 hexes.

I keep waiting for the Allied shoe to drop and it doesn't. I must sound a lot like chicken little.[:D]

Ohhhhhhhh...it WILL. We know that. Did you know the Japanese LOST the war. Just heard about that. Didn't know at all.
In some ways I cannot WAIT to start my next game. Have learned so much to this stage of the match that I would do many things different. Spoke to Michael about that this afternoon. Experience is a GREAT teacher. CORRECT?

The Allies enjoy about 90% milk runs over their targets these days. It is that little 10% that matter to the Japanese eyes. Today--Ternate suddenly finds 39 Sams flying LRCAP from Manado. Nine Corsairs do their normal Sweep and suddenly find their hands full. Though good planes, the Corsairs are overwhelmed by the Japanese numbers (and pilots with 70+ Exp). In come waves of A-20 bombers on their daily milk run. They are roughly handled with nearly 1 1/2 dozen being shot down and twice that damaged.

This is EXCELLENT air guerrilla, very very well done, just you must fasten its pace...as frequently as possible!
Edit: why so many Sams losses if compared to the Corsairs losses?

All those troops pulled from the Aleutians begin unloading in the Home Isles. Time to figure exactly where they are going to go. Looks to me like adding the existing garrisons along the build-able Isles near Kyushu is a good bet. Perhaps Saishu To and Moppo to protect the lines-of-communication between Home Isles and Shanghai? Several choices...
TK-7 pulls even with Davao and moves east towards Babeldoap.

More overkill but at least we blasted EIGHT of them for no aerial losses. Will take what I can get!

Yes indeed. You really have to have a full campaign under your belt to know what the score is. Due to the time it takes, so few players have actually played an pbemail game to the end. Without the endgame experience a lot of players make some terrible early game mistakes that haunt them later. With Japan it seems to be over expansion and production. With the Allies, it seems to be jumping into rash early actions where patience is called for.

China
As mentioned earlier, the Chinese juggernaut has been slowly awakening. This day finds the Chinese launching their first real offensive attack, en masse, against the Japanese lines at Kweilin and the hex SW of there. Tens of thousands of Chinese advance against three resolute Japanese Infantry Divisions and support units. Though terribly outnumbered, the Japanese are dug-in behind concrete fortifications, heavily constructed bunkers, and outstanding jungle camoflage. Here are the results:
Kweilin
Chinese Deliberate Attack: 1-2 Forts-6 (AV 2762-6073) Losses: Japan 899 and 8 Guns---China 4,795 and 52 Guns
Hex 75,54
Chinese Deliberate Attack: 1-2 Forts-6 (AV 808-1959) Losses: Japan 336 9 Guns---China 3,311 and 20 Guns
Deep Breath as the lines hold--for the moment...

The arrival of the troops withdrawn from the Aleutians in Operation Aurora cannot be overstated for its importance. All those islands around Kyushu were getting small, almost 'token,' garrisons. Not now. The 7th, 14th, and 38th IDs are tasked with holding the three most important of these Islands. Each ID will be paired with a CD unit and, with smaller units freed up, convoys move to place troops at all Isle locations.
Wherever the Allies come, there will be NO FREEBIES. Dan's love of 'wandering around' looking for a soft target will find NO choices this time!
BANZAI!

Being allowed to continuously withdraw troops has been quite nice. The limited Japanese offensive in Indochina cleared the Railroad and has allowed quick movement of troops up and out of the region. As discussed earlier, the Japanese will hold Saigon and CRB as long as possible while troops are shuttled up from Singapore to CRB and, from there, by RR out of the area.
Presently there are 14-18 units moving out by this manners. Several Air HQ, Base Forces, Infantry Regiments, and AA units are getting a chance to live another day and fight in a more meaningful area of operation.

The great Tanker movement. ANYTHING that gets out and heads for Japan is considered GOLD right now. Take a look at this massive shuttle program:

The massed enemy fleet appears SW of Formosa moving NE.
Objective Guesses?
1. CHINA: Land a crap ton of troops on the Chinese Coast and fight a continental-sized battle for several months ending up in Shanghai.
2. Hang a right and move NE along the coast and directly land on or near Shanghai.
3. OKINAWA: Logical choice with three AFs that the Allied Fighters could be based upon for Sweeping purposes.
4. KOREA: Possible but not probable.
5. Coastal Isles off Kyushu's coast. This is where I would go so, therefore, he will not. As detailed earlier, am reinforcing this area. Troops and convoys will be unloaded before he can threaten the region.
CHOICES?
I am willing to bet on China. Why? He already has the bases on the coast and doesn't have to make an assault landing. Can also be done under the umbrella of Naval and Land-Based Air. Absolutely low risk.
If he lands here then he frees up his Carriers for other operations. This is why I need to run the Tanker Convoys through as fast as possible. Figure at least 10-14 days to get stuff out of the DEI before I have to really worry about that possibility.
