I would not say that Japan won it clearly. There was a cost in lost planes, and more importantly a cost in pilots. No Allied pilots were lost here. If my memory serves, that is.

I think at least some pilots were saved as you have friendly port. I think, not sure about the results.

I think the program takes ports into account. So when it says PX the pilot is lost.

Use the points to increase the damage on the Allied ships.

Allies chose CP too.
Damage to Allies. CV Essex and CV Bennington have both size 1 CVP landed after the abort. Others are empty.

CV almost sunk but got only damaged. BB is damaged too.
