Eisenhower CSG passed in front of the Houthis stronghold without trouble and crossed Bab el-Mandeb Strait, destination the Persian Gulf.
There have been reports of the Houthis receiving C-802A anti-ship missiles. How dangerous are they?

They have this capability according to the link below.
Probably they could not overwhelm the CSG defenses, but it is a question for scenario designers

Map updated and expanded by Intelschizo. But were there not 2 PLAN groups?

It says that the ineffective attacks on USS
Mason on October 9, 2016, turned out to be C-802A missiles. I just assumed at the time that they were obsolete Styx missiles, but no, they turned out to be fairly new Chinese exports.
I also hadn't heard about their Shark-33 drone boats before:
The most significant technological development undertaken by the Houthis in coastal defense was the conversion (with Iranian support) of coast guard speedboats into the self-guiding Shark-33 explosive drone boat, which can be programmed to follow a course or home in on a target using electro-optical television guidance. This kind of device was used to successfully attack a Saudi frigate on January 30, 2017, (using television guidance), and unsuccessfully to attack a Saudi oil loading terminal on April 26, 2017 (using GPS guidance while maneuvering at 35-45 knots). The Shark-33 has been employed by the Houthis in a triangular formation, with the attack boat forward, a command boat nearby, and a media boat (to capture combat footage) further away. On one occasion, a Shark 33 was camouflaged by being loaded with fish.

Edit: Hey, I see that the Ike CSG includes USS
Mason, the same ship that was attacked (unsuccessfully) by Houthis in 2016. Coincidence?

Your reasoning is true that with one ship afor 120h and only 16 suspicious objects to search for, unified and neutralized
120/16=7.5
My study dates back more than 30 years, I could be wrong, but I would say between 3 and 4 hours
The group included 5 minehunters; ENS Ugandi (M315), LNS Skalvis (M53), BNS Crocus (M917), Bad Bevensen (M1063), HNLMS Vlaardingen (M863)
and 2 minesweepers; ORP Drużno (641) and ORP Hańcza (642).
120 hours to research and identify
228 objects as mine-like and only 16 were confirmed as mines and were subsequently neutralized.
7 ships for 120 hours and 228 objects
7*120/228=3.68
or 120/(228/7) =3.68

Thanks, of course your answer is a lot more complete. My idea was basically don't forget the initial article and perhaps, just as you did, start something of debate. Thank you very much for your imput.

I demand rogue wave modeling in CMO.

A friend said the US Navy is investing in some of this research. That makes sense...

That tragedy is now consider a rogue wave. So not only will you have to have your Burke dodging AShMs, but gigantic waves as well.

I keep asking for flying saucers and sea monsters, but no one listens to me.

Well to be fair, with the recent serious attention to UAPs, it wouldn't be THAT unreasonable to add UFOs.

That's a lot of firepower. But I don't think it be used. Show of force I suppose. That OOB could defeat all but China.

Just hearing via Defense and Aerospace Report Podcast about a system specifically centered on taking out drones. Supposedly it is being implemented in the current conflict between Russia/Ukraine. I didn't catch it's name but supposedly it is getting the kinks ironed out in it. Anyone know what the system is or know more about it?

I'm pretty sure The newer SPY-6 Aegis radar and combat systems have a significant focus for countering drones. It can focus EM very narrowly and shift very quickly to kill comms and any other RF on drones. Supposedly...
It might not eliminate all drone threats, but should at least raise the technology bar for those trying to use them.
