Not really news but interesting.
For those that sometimes ask if the pros really use (or play) CMO.

Just asking for a friend, Isn't it cheaper to sell\loan Taiwan 1-2 nuclear weapon capable submarines, ending of any invasion fleet issues?

That could be a
casus belli.
Though perhaps the Chinese are Russian-like. No
casus belli? We invent one, false flag all the way.
Coming back to Ukraine as another day passes without a new version of CMO...

If this is true...this blocks off potentially the last potential avenue that the US Navy has in potentially challenging the PLAN.

Well I would hope it's true....
China is developing sensors to hunt enemy submarines from aircraft. --- the concept has been around for a while now
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_class_airship
Recent patents show a focus on magnetic detection and improved sonobuoys. --- MAD was first used in WW2, as were sonobouys... I would hope they are improved...
New capabilities are critical for China to guard its aircraft carriers, two experts said. --- without being blocked my response involves constipation and Sherlock Holmes
I'm still kicking myself for taking the bait and clicking on this one....

Having a fleet of low flying drones carry MAD detector might still be handy. But for ASW plane with MAD, man, that is so 1960s.

I believe that the click-bait above was probably basing at least some of it's conjecture on this paper and a couple others out there that I found:
https://www.mdpi.com/1424-8220/23/22/9293
I do not understand the physics or parameters, perhaps someone on forum can - but I also have no frame of reference to compare it against. Seems to be a thorough test but the conclusions seem inconclusive. But it is well beyond my ability to interpret.
Any thoughts?

I think what its saying is that instead of MAD being a very general, "There's something big and metal here", its a way to generate specific detection profiles. I suspect this has to do with computational power now available in semi-mobile packages. Maybe a little "AI" thrown in. Those models have been around a long time, but to use them in real-time detection was not feasible due to the compute cycles needed.
I would be that a lot of the MAD cons are still applicable though. Especially effective range and there is still going to be a lot of earth and sea floor to sort through. The USN didn't randomly choose not to stick with MAD or invest in it for the future. The US has poured billions into non-acoustic and non-MAD detection capabilities. The same computer power I mentioned above is a big enabler.

Recently I noticed Argentina has purchaced ex-Danish F-16 in April... might make "Malvinas" scenario little more bit interesiting than one-side massacre by Brit.

Pics by MT Anderson. Formation of russian warships from Novorossiysk to Crimea. According to him could be
3 vessels in the back are Natya/Alexandrit Class, 2x Grachonok patrol boats on the flanks and then the front 3 could be Alligator/Ropucha
What an opportunity for a huge wolves pack of Ukrainian naval drones
