I scraped together enough people to make a first draft of a blocking position but it's not going to hold anything. And I railed in some
people to be able to help out next turn. But John is going to push those guys aside and roll on. I'm only about 1/2 way through moving
my people so maybe I can find some more dudes to rail into this area. It's not looking as bad as I thought it was going to look and I'm
feeling a little better about the situation.

I am an old recon Troop leader myself. In the Australian army we were always 100k in front.

That is not the only defense. All river hexes with a flooded marsh are impossible to cross for 3/4 qtrs of the year. When winter comes they will freeze where upon the Larry will be able to attack where ever he wishes. If you study the map you will see that there are only a few areas where I can cross.

The theater air superiority has swung back towards the Axis. However the loss of 23,954 HRS seems a bit high. Any comments on this key metric?

John has been doing airfield attacks and a lot of my fighters are in reorg and the losses in aircraft is high right now.

I'm thinking John knows that time is against him and he's pushing to make good while he can. 23K+ losses in HRS's seems high to me
and I'm thinking the edge of the sword is getting dull. Maybe I can start pushing back come October and the winter turns. The strategic
advantage is still w/ John and the Axis since he's doing the deciding where to go and what to do w/ his attackers. I'm having to try to
react to his moves and he's catching me off guard all over the map. Great game so far.

Here's the north part of the front lines. John is making progress all over the map. It looks like curtins for the Soviets.

Here's the front lines further south from the previous picture. John has made several holes in my lines and is pushing and shoving his
way past the remnants. The Soviet shock level is 80 I believe and John's is like 115 or so. So it's hard to stop John from doing anything
he wants to. D'oh.

Here's a look at the riverbank in the south. John is entering the Crimea and will probably continue pushing south and east from there.

Here's a closeup of the area just north of Kiev where John caught me off balance. He's making holes and pushing and shoving and this
time I happened to have some troops to rail into the AO to help out. I may be able to hold these guys back a turn or two.

Here's a close up of the River into the Crimea where John is jumping the river and is pushing south. I think maybe John will use the
unblocked guys to help unstop the dedicated crossings and then we'll have a game to play.

Here's how the air was seems to be going. I'm having high losses but evidently, so is John. That's because of all the airfield attacks
he's been doing. Terrifically ferocious fighting going on.

Here's what it looks like around the west of Leningrad now. John is moving south to outflank me and he's got no hinderence as far as I
can tell. Not much I can do about it. My heroic hero's are standing firm steady as a rock. And then just before they die they throw their
rifles down and start running.

How does it look like east and northeast of Leningrad? From the micromap in the above screenshot it seems you have brought up reinforcements, so i would be interested in the details.

All but one of the squadrons are in the green and the one that's not is yellow. But there are a serious number of squadrons in reorg.
There's some serious fighting going on in the air. Mostly it's John doing 8 or 12 airfield strikes per round. And several rounds per turn.
That reminds me.......... I need to post the losses too. That's going to be in the next post after this one.

Details coming up. John is making slow progress w/ the Finns and he's sailed in some regular German formations and they are taking
part in the struggle in this area too. Actually they are the reason for any progress at all since the Finns are challenged in the strength
area.
