Here's the West end of the island. This is all that needs to be cleaned up still and then the whole island is mine. I'm going to do some
landings on Corsica and Sardinia to clear them as well. Soon.

So in T17 I'm ready for the second wave to invade the mainland and I get this screen at the beginning of the turn:

Sometime during T17 I did some more landings, this time near Pizzo. I'm expecting some reinforcements from this excursion. Plus it will
help deny the supply to the Germans further south because of the terrain in this area.

Here's how the air war is going right now:

Here's a view of the toe hold on the mainland. I dropped a regiment of paratroopers on the north side of the German defenders and
now they have no where to go and the take down will be accellerated greatly.

I sailed some troops and tanks to Carazaro for new landings and it looks like I've already connected w/ the West edge for supply and
a rudimentary LOC. It's starting to look better.

There used to be a problem w/ some Axis fighters based on the east side of the peninsula and I solved that problem by driving over the
airfield thus moving the fighters to somewhere else further away. I would rather destroy them but I'd need some arty for that.

Here's the positions at the end of T19. I'm inching my way north on both the West coast and on the East coast.

I dropped some paratroopers to grab the bridges over a river. I'll need those pretty soon now. The land combat forces are getting
closer to the drop zone all the time.

I landed several elements of the Free French something or other on the island of Sardinia. I plan to divide the units into parts to clear the
island faster. I'm pretty sure there are still German ( or at least Axis ) units on the island. I have no proof just a hunch. I could be wrong.
Maybe a better approach would have been to invade all the ports at once so as to trap the enemy on the island. Just a thought.

My last post was about the FF landing on Sardinia to clear the island of Germans and curious to know whether or not there were any
Axis units on the island I took a look around and sure enough found some Germans, or at least they are Axis units. And there's a
squadron of planes near a port. I could land some arty there and maybe get a plane or two. Worth a try.

I found an arty unit that just happened to be sitting in a port so I nabbed it for the arty raid on Sardinia. It took all the unit had to just get
to the port so any attacking I'm going to do will have to be the last thing for the turn. I'm sure it's going to eat up all the rounds of the
turn however many there are 'cause it's MP's are zero now. It just occurs to me that the arty unit is going to need a security detail to
protect the arty from any and all Germans on the island. And that red dot on the mini-map means there's at least one.

OK. There was a lot of units toward the west end of Sicily fighting Axis units and now that all the Axis unit on Sicily are gone everybody
is headed for Messina to get off the island. And now in T20 there's starting to be quite the traffic jam. I'm going to have to start using
the priority method to determine who gets to use the port next. AT guns can wait, AA units can wait. Right now I need the recon units
and the INF dudes to do their thing. Chrome can go in the fourth wave.
EDIT: You know it just occured to me that I might ought to have sent the Free French to Taranto instead of Sardinia. D'oh. Live and
learn.

Here's what the supply situation looks like. It's going to go up however because there was a German roadblock that is now gone so the
next time the supply levels will be calculated they will reflect that the roadblock is gone by increasing, probably remarkably. I'm hoping.

Here's the result of that arty raid on the German airfield. I got some bombers. Hu Ya !

I thought I'd do one of those arty raids at Taranto. I'm not sure how many arty units are sitting at ports ready to move but I'm guessing
not many. I hope I can find at least one. Those German planes aren't going to be there next turn unless I attack them now.

Here's the tip of the spear on the West side. My recon is sufficiently high to spot some German Armour units, obviously one formation
and there's probably some more Germans that don't show yet. I might ought to allow the recon let the main body catch up so they can
act as backup for the recon units. Otherwise they might get hurt.

Here's what Taranto looks like now. I moved a bunch of units in including arty. I have to wait until about 70% of the turn is used up
before I can fire the arty but I'm hoping that's possible to fire the arty before the turn ends.
EDIT: It was possible and I evaporated all three Axis squadrons.

Here's what T23 looks like now. I'm pressing north on the east side and I'm waiting for backup on the west side.

Here's a close up of the situation on the East side. I've surrounded one unit and I'm working on developing the battlefield on the
other one.
