Tokyo. The highest Fires value seen during the replay was 191,700. Damage is accruing, whether enough results are obtained will be a matter of interpretation.

Victory!

Nah not really, there's still a lot of red dots on the map...

Still, quite a nice progression. I look forward to the next landings on Shikoku.

Also, once you take Chingking you will have a lot of free troops. Will they march towards the Hankow - Hangchow - Shangai enclave? Or move north, towards Korea? Or, prepare for another maritime invasion perhaps?

It will be great to get the other Allies freed from operations in China, but very few Chinese Army units can leave China. Lots of units are already marching out of the Chungking plain as they have upgraded to '45 squads. Supply on the plain has become slightly scarce, perhaps due to combat in Chungking, so maybe I should send out more with '43 squads and upgrade them closer to the coast.

Certainly Chinese Army units can move into Manchuria (I think they can, I had better check with Walter to be sure), so they'll provide a nice second front (so to speak) when the Soviets invade.

No damage to resources there - do you think you could put just one incendiary bomb down the coal mine shaft? That otta do it! [8D]

Does that ever bother you about all the alien invasion movies (and of course the various iterations of the Death Star technology in Star Wars movies)? The aliens travel across 50 billion light years and have technology where their toothpicks must make our entire planets look lame, and they always leave themselves open to one Hail-Mary type play that a sixth grader could design a defense against.

Nah, I'll bet all the coal mine entrances in Tokyo are camouflaged, defended, protected by multiple layers of decoys (mallards), etc. Even a Gorn couldn't sniff his way in.

A surprise!

Please don't tell us, Andav considers this over! [:-] Would be a real shame - there seems so much left to do.

Not quite. He says the Empire is in horrible shape. We'll see how far into the HI invasions we continue.

Tokyo. Our night B-29 groups made a number of hits despite heavy night fighter presence and brought Fires up to 90,000. Only 3 Superfortresses were lost. Increases in damage to a number of industrial facilities are evident from recon with hopefully more to come.
