Very interesting. Didn't know that about the B-29 having two bomb bays. B-29 had quite a ceiling advantage on the Lancaster as I recall.

Can't find the link right now but the Germans had a passenger plane with pressurized cabins that they used like the U-2 and flew recon and nuisance bombing raids over England. The Brits finally modified a fighter to get that high but it's guns froze. The Germans quit flying the plane after that. It was the first dogfight at 40,000 feet.
