Qite a lot of worry this turn as the CA fast transport group is shown sitting in the kavieg hex!
The allies bomb a heap of bases again, man it must be a boring war for the B-26 pilots , at Lea 9 Rufe rise to oppose every day - me thinks they take off, fly away from the field, land at a beach, spend the day there, then fly home to report that they were unable to catch the speedier bombers[:'(]

They certaintly aint bothering the P38 or spit escorts
Some 60 tonies at Wewak are slowly trying to regain moral, wont re commit until at full moral again

Truk groans under the wieght of planes I have

The fast transports did pick up successfully a base force, they will head back to the Admiralties.
A very large transport convoy is headed there as well.
Wobbly has ships everywhere, at the moment most seem to be at woodlark, of travelling up and down the slot. Lunga is pounded regularily to pacify it, as I just love flying into rear bases that have been bypassed, hit something, and get out again[:D]

So, game crawls along -wobbly has put it to a lower piority, so have I -WITP is getting very busy.
Nevertheless its going to go to the end.

An OUCH day for Japan today
DD taylor is sunk by one of our SS at woodlark
But the allies finally have Kavieg up and operating as an A/F -in two large raids they attack the Admiralties -and the fast transport force unloading there
Escorted by corsairs 20 odd DB and torpedoe bombers put a bomb into CL yubari, CL oyoda, and 2 bombs into the Mikuma
They are hurt bad, so Im forced to send my last naval units of note home

Lea is hit as well again today
A big convoy sails gamely south west from Truk, Im not so sure it will make it -Tokyo has given me another 20 odd AP, so Ill have a go.

its been very quiet for the game, today he has CVs parked 5 hexes due north of kavieng, on blockade duty

Thunderstorms -no raids today

large convoy beginning the dash into Sag, sag, Lea, madang. and some ships will try for gassmatta.

I lost a ss today -he lost a DD at woodlark.

we had some real problems with lost game files -and wobbly lost his disc or something loke that.
game finally continues -which is nice

Problem is, little to report today
Thunderstorms everywhere, no bombing except at lunga

SS I-33 is sunk at woodlark by a DD
But I-164 sinks the very same DD.

thats good

His Bloody CVs are still sitting north of kavieg, a real roadblock.

My tactic of hoarding ss is really paying off now -wobbly is very, very stretched for escorts , and has a gazzillion things to do

ss I-33 is sunk off woodlark, but SSI-164 gets her killer[:D]

I-25 gets an AP off gassamatta -79 casos -here comes another invasion!!
I-177 has a shot at a CA off the beaches -misses, and is sunk for its failure

North of kavieg still his CVs
Troops pouring ashore at gassmatta -which is starving -so not much hope here!

I-164 misses a DD at woodlark
His Cvs north of kavieg suddenly race north west, and attack my cripples trying to get home

CL oyoda is sunk
CL Yubari -my absolute fav ship -a 99 experience one -also goes
CA Mikuma also goes down in the 3rd wave of attacks!

Ay last i can plot something
1000 planes are put to naval attack at truk -yes -1000 planes!
And a CVE, and 4 DDs are sent as a lure south from Truk
can I get him to react towards truk -I so do hope so!

I cross my fingers, maybe I can still get a kill!

Yubari was a top ship in my last game. Seemed to lead a charmed life and kicked plenty of arse in surface battles[8D]

My betties at Truk attack -not asked for, but there you go!

38 zeros, 40 oscars escort 9 betties against his CVs
96 Hellcat CAP -its a turkey shoot -2 hellcats shot down, and I lose 33 oscars, 19 zeros.
The betties miss the saratoga

ss 1-7 sunk
Allies shock at gassmatta -and it falls
Troops go to starvation at hoskins.

All my ships retire to truk, and i standdown a lot of bombers.

s-1-28 gets a APD today, but is sunk in the counter attack
Lea gets pounded today
At wau more troops arrive from PM tomorrow -these are actually troops from Buna originally -what a trek!
I put lots of tonies into Lea -going to fight for the place now for a while

I form a new surface TF -BB mushia, 1 ca, 1 cl, 14 dd
His cvs are still lurking -going to risk all if I can, and if the weather allows , and try for a mid ocean intercept

The score finally goes to him 2 to 1 ratio .
I fight on!

boring turn
I actually have noticed that I am recieving zekes at a good rate -have a unit of 27 now, at 70 experience -so Im going to commit them soon, just to see how they go as opposed to WITP.
