Good to see you back. I was actually concerned for the last week or so.
Well LOTS happened but suffice it to say I just got my first "new turn" in the Lunacy or Shrewdness game today and so things should pick up again there.

In the face of Niks blatant schoolboy toilet humour ( what else could we expect[;)] ) .. I caught MRSA .. had gangrene ! and lost a fair chunk of my right leg .. along with being on an isolation ward for most of this time ( v v v boring )... and no laptop .. didnt even have a telephone , as the hospital hasnt been re-wired since WW1 ( yes 1 not 2 ) ..
Scott got married on the 4th of June there Ron .. plenty of time for the new lady .. we need turns ! .. romance can only last so long , can;t it ?????? .. funnily enough he was sending out turns the day before the wedding to 'get away' from all the 'damn family' [:D].
serously though I have and do wish him all the best , it's been work post wedding thats been the real time killer , he hasnt even had time for a honeymoon ( to my knowlwdge) .. great news for thier joint bank account [;)] .
fingers crossed we will carry on soon ..

Yikes! Sounds unpleasant Rob, to say the least. Good to see you back, though, and hope all is ok now.
I'll be happy to see this AAR going again, too. [:)]

As promised , september rolled around and a new turn arrived ! hoorah .
Havnt got a clue what i was thinking, need to re-read this AAR a bit to understand
what and why i have things where they are . i.e india is sooo well covered its
unbelieveable. fragments and some duff inf at mandalay but no a/c.
chinas a huge japanese training ground right now and the RAF is a bit pathetic.
anyhoo the day AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 08/19/42 started well
Sub attack at 20,59
Japanese Ships
AK Nittatsu Maru, Shell hits 1, Torpedo hits 2, on fire, heavy damage
Allied Ships
SS S-37
just off batavia .. sank it too. time to move a bit .
Lae once again gets hammered . port this time
Day Air attack on Lae , at 54,87
Allied aircraft
Wellington III x 39
B-25C Mitchell x 15
B-26B Marauder x 46
No Allied losses
Japanese ground losses:
117 casualties reported
Port hits 5
Port supply hits 5
didn't know it was going so well here . however i am dead short on AV support for
Eastern australia , ony brisbane has 250+ rest at best 90. not good news. where
on earth did i put them ?
We will be continuing sporadiacally for a while , so its good to have 2 games going
esp as joe will be going back to college on wednesday. possibly great timing [:D].
I did upgrade the AVG (down to 30 a/c) to P40E's which i had horded . only 6 pilots needed
to be hired to make it full 72 man group , and its very experienced now.
Also after my recent experience in the aleutiams with joe i have diverted the following to
dutch harbour.
2DM
2BB
3CA
2CL
10DD
all from PH which is not under any threat whatsoever. I havnt done the aleutians a bit differantly
to joes game with me actually sending up most if not all Npac troops and also building up
from east to west so noone in attu or kiska untill i have level 4-5 bases in range for
a counterattack with decent AV support and at least some medium bombers ( which are much
more plentiful than the 4E variety) .
From looking back over this page i believe doing another sabang operation will be a mistake
as he'll expect it. and it is only august42 still i think i was being very ambitious there.
Burma looks interesting at least .. only 8 japanese units in pagan hummm .. but he's got a lot of a/c in this theatre. I'd kept back all new arrived troops and made mobile reserves in the central cities. the calcutta triangle is well garissoned but akyab is hanging in the wind so to speak. also spread out the semi repaired malayan units to the rear bases and minor coastal towns along with arty where possible ( for the coast anyway). RN is non existant in the IO .. hms valiant looks like she will make the solo transit to perth ok . several DD's sailing down from derby to rendesvous. also derby looks fuel lite .. about 50k loading up at perth for transfer.
thats it for now and i am very happy to see scotty back and after a very succesful summer for him he deserves a break imo.

How ya feeling Rob? Grim health issue there...[X(][:(] Drinking lots of beer to heal the flesh and soul or was it the beer (diabetes) that hit you?

Hi Ron .. not beer related illness [;)].. v v long story but you could say i'm legless [:D] ( one at least ) .. anyway i look at the upside .. no work = more time to play WitP .. among others
Gamewise we are in a stlemate situation most everywhere. so very little to report, well actually noting of consequence happened at all .. so no report ..
IF i get time tomorrow i do a piccie run .. esp in the aleutians as he's just made a threat about it .. but its as garissoned as it can be .. 1 rct every base. I did divert 64 mitchells from west coast command to north pacific .. just in case.
maybe more next turn

Good to see this one continued too! Hopefully everything is going Ok with you Rob? [:)]
I think the peacefulness is due to the game date. You are not strong enough to make serious push forwards and your opponent is not willing advance more either.

Thanks Nik and chugging we are ..
Aztez is absolutely right , date is too early for any allied offensives BUT Japan
still have a large gun to point somewhere .. and he's making all sorts of innuendos
about where ( i.e anywhere )
Japan conducts a Lot of training in china and the PI's .. nowt i can do
BUT .. decision reached, the allied CV's have left Derby for Perth, then onto
Melbourne and sydney for the 42/10 upgrades. I may use them to escort a new div
into PM if that stays quiet ..
piccie os india .. every base has some inf in it , just in case of para landings
the most rearward dont however. ( waste imo).. Karachi is not undefended either [;)]
