I cannot believe Christian Horner!! What a sore loser....

So for four years he has had the best designer in F1 which, allied to a more than decent engine, has seen Vettel win four World Championships - could have been 5 if he cut out the stupid mistakes in 2009.

So now what? Mercedes do a first class job of building an engine - unlike Renault, Ferrari and now Honda - and Horner wants the FIA to step in to equalise things!!! Why couldn't things have been "equalised" between 2010 -2013? People started turning-off from F1 long before Mercedes and the new formula took over. But Horner wasn't vocal about "equalisation" then was he?

What a $%^&^!! And now Ecclestone agrees with him.....

I agree Warspite. It's like American college football. Once the coach of Alabama started dominating, everyone wanted to change all the rules.

The Nürburgring was meant to host the race, but due to problems had to back out. Höckenheim was then to hold the race.

Just too expensive to hold a race weekend, no idea who gets all the money from the ticket sales, probably Bernie. Shame now that so many German drivers are racing, the interest is here in Germany. Again the fan has to suffer.

Tomorrow talks are be held with the FIA in Geneva.
Maybe Germany is still going to get their race.

Mercedes is 1 hour drive away from Hockenheim, I doubt that they will not want to have a race on their doorstep. Nearly all Mercedes workers pilgrimage to Mercedes Corner.

We will just have to wait and see.

I hope so. I love watching the race they hold in Germany.

There comes a point where everyone passes their sell-by date.

There is no denying the absolutely fantastic job that Bernie Ecclestone has done in bringing F1 to where it is - attracting major manufacturers, a full calendar, safety paramount. But I am afraid he just doesn't get it. Hstory and tradition are important - no matter the sport.

Yes, its great that he has introduced F1 all over the world, but its home, its roots are in Europe. Surely to goodness its not beyond the wit of man to see that by the same token that F1 without Ferrari is no longer F1, the sport NEEDS a core of Grand Prix. If those Grand Prix need to be subsidised, then so what?

Bernie can take F1 where the hell he likes, but a Grand Prix calandar should include:

Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Monaco.

Britain was the first ever host of an F1 World Championship Grand Prix in 1950 and the majority of teams operate from the UK.

France held the first ever Grand Prix and, like Italy and Germany, has a rich history in the sport.

Monaco is there for the spectacle.

I firmly believe F1 is at a crossroads....

I wish they'd let me design some race courses. I'd have one in Vienna's streets.

And Belgium!
warspite1

Ah yes of course - Belgium, not for any reason other than they have possibly the best circuit still left. Good shout.

If Holland cannot afford a race anymore I'd say use the Zandvoort layout in the next country that wants to host a Grand Prix.

And I doubt they'd allow Austria to get 2 races in 1 year. Probably a lot of nations want one.

It seems to be all about money with Bernie so if, unlikely I know, Austria stumped up the necessary cash he probably would allow it. Sadly it seems F1 is never to visit the likes of Anderstorp, Zandvoort or Estoril again - even Paul Ricard or Magny Cours seem to be out...

Speaking of Zandvoort - here is Derek Warwick at the circuit in 1983 in the glorious Toleman TG183
