Sorry guys. Not much has been happening and I've found it hard to say anything witty (or even to concentrate) with severe sinus headaches for over a week. I promise to catch up when I shake this . Till then, it's hard enough to even return turns.

I hate that. Just in case you haven't heard of it, breathing in over a bowl of hot water with a towels over you (to help hold in the steam) sometimes helps to loosen up whatever crap is blocking things. Helped me immensely once last year.

When I was a kid (round about the time Custer was a Corporal) I used to get those. For what ever reason they stopped about the time I went into the military. I think they forbade them.[:D] Anyway I still remember how incapacitated they made me all those years back. Hope you feel better soon.

You could improve on that with the Crocodile Dundee trick of dumping someone's cocaine powder into the bowl of hot water to help with the sinus clearing ...[:D]

I'm a little nervous about the neti pot thing , but in the past I have done the "Nasal syringe" thing (basically a rubber squeeze ball). I'll give this a try. Thanks![:D]

Andre could you tell me something that would be extremely useful? What did I do against you in our various games that you felt was effective (if anything?). Your Scenario two game was the most challenging game I've ever played against anyone. Toughest opponent, toughest scenario. Any feed back would be very useful (downright precious) to me. Maybe there's something there that can make the Goon (sorry , I mean GORN) go totally bugnuts. [&:]

I guy I worked with 30 years ago told me about major chronic sinus problems he had where nothing whatsoever helped. This went on for a long time with many medical remedies tried. His doctor, as a last resort, broke open a passageway for them to clear and he said he immediately felt them draining and had permanent relief. As best I recall what he described - obviously *NOT* a DIY procedure - was the doctor inserted a pointed tool up his nostril (repeated procedure for the other side) asking him where he felt it to position it properly, then struck it modestly with the heel of his hand. The tool pushed through a small bone or something and made a new passageway as described earlier.

I have no idea if that is anything currently done or if that doc was at the end of a career from an earlier age of medicine, but it worked for my coworker. I must stress this doctor knew exactly what he was doing and had done it before. I would not ask someone without specific training and experience to attempt it.

The one thing I'd recommend that worked well for you is to use your B-17Ds in long range Nav Search, once trained. I know that's a fixture of your early war prep and I think it served you well. I'd stick with it as a long-range supplement to your Catalinas. Not being able to surprise you with KB (well, most of the time, anyway) when and where I wanted was an annoyance.

I know you hate the Chinese TO, but I'd strongly advocate you pay at least a modicum of respect to this theatre. At least enough to make it very difficult for him to steamroll you in the open and the Northcentral plains. Get your troops into rough or forested hexes. Dig where you can. Sprinkle in sporadic CAP traps to make him escort his 2EBs and slow him down. It made a big difference in VPs in our game. Deny him these points as best you are able, even if the Chinese annoy you.

She needs you to get supply to her. I've read in these pages that the best way to do that is through Rangoon. Get as much as you can there as fast as you can, and it should be drawn inland towards and eventually to China. As long as the 'Burma Road' remains open. Just in case you weren't aware. Even then you'll need to keep offensive ops to a minimum.
