Germans reestablish the area and corral 2 guard tank corps into the pocket.

I really want to rescue them.
A likely rescue avenue from the south to attack the west part of the pocket would probable mean throwing more good money after bad.

I nudge aside this measly German infantry division.

I now have (i think) open corridor to Tula and the German airforce.

Southern operations find a measly German security unit guarding the river line.

being stubborn, and before I close the pincers I still must rescue my trapped troops.

Rescue begins

I coral the 5-12 German infantry unit to the east and get in close to relive the cut off.

I risk only 2 divisions in the attack as I have 5 left to roam deep behind the German lines.

Cut off troops head into the breaches.

Final positions

About 30 German tank mech units cut off plus a few infantry divisions.

He has 2 tanks divisions near the Oka which might force a rescue corridor.

from the south he has 3 or 4 but they are below Kursk. If he somehow rescues his troops, those Italians will be smashed next turn.

I have moved in additional tank corp into the breach entrances ready to pounce on any German rescue troops.
