The Soviet Army started a new offensive against the Finnish units south of Lake Ilmen.
I'm surprised their fort levels are so low. Unless you have been leading them into a trap.
Edit: BTW, this is an area where cavalry would really shine considering all the dense terrain.
The Soviet offensive started one or two turns earlier, but the sector had been quiet for the previous many months. The fort levels are probably low due to few Axis units being in the frontlines. Agreed Cavalry would be very effective in this area.
