The Allies are fighting forward, and I think that is the proper tactic to take.

It makes Japan be a lot more careful...for example, I will pull back most of this invasion fleet. It seems likely there might be a destroyer or cruiser in the area.

This is the unit that beat off the attack at Adak a day or so ago.

Illustrates the deleterious impact of winter weather, and very low prep. They were bombed by the Enterprise's planes, and bombarded by a light cruiser task force and still managed to muster a few points of assault value.

CDR Nagano rallied them. And the extra rice didn't hurt[:)]

He is a very good leader for such a unit![:)] I really like the SNLF troops in the Dababes mods. In fact Japan overall is a fair bit stronger on the ground in this mod than in a normal stock scenario 1 game thanks to TOE changes.

Man, that's a lot of cruisers in one spot. The full Mogami class and most of the Takao class. Good ships those, better than anything the USN gets til the Baltimores roll out. Two of the Kongou class mean lots of soak for bombs too since USN torps are just plain bad til 43.

I don't think ABDA knows how strong a force it is. He has DL on everything, but it is always misleading early on, and I don't exactly have a reputation for massing 20 surface ships into a fleet x3. He might be thinking he has enough for 3 size 9 fleets especially with the POW present.

Plus I currently have 90 fighters present (Oscar and Zero) with the option of flying in another 36 without sacrificing anything...perhaps more if I chose to weaken the Mini KB and or Palembang's air defenses.

Gotta ask, since I'm kinda partial to the naval side of things, what are you going to do with Tone and Chikuma? I know I've seen other Japanese players use them as deep raiders. I know IRL they were refitted with aviation and hanger facilities but i can't remember if the game models that.

In the past games I used the Tone as a deep raider, and really loved her in that role.

The game does model some BB conversions to CS, which I really like, and also some CA modifications which I generally don't like as much but still think it is worth getting. So yes to BB, and maybe to yes to the CA conversions.

Lets see, it is the Mogami class and they get 11? planes I recall.

Of course they might get sunk tomorrow![X(]

IIRC Mogami is the only one that can convert to the CA with lots of float planes on the back end.
