Now I am 45 minutes older and I am NOT getting that back. It will be my epitaph.
"Here lies Cap Mandrake. He wasted 45 minutes planning a massive air raid on Port Hedland and then some stupid random number generator decided to make the weather bad so instead of looking some self-imagined genius he just wasted another 45 minutes that might have been better used being nice to real people so that more would come to his funeral. Even worse, nobody but the gardener is going to read this and 3 to 1 the guy won't even speak English".
Sorry, but I believe your epitaph will read, "Pretend I did not read the manual..."

Hey...that is a good point. Think of all the time I saved by not reading the manual. I feel better now.
I took Mandrake Jr to El Pollo loco yesterday and we were ordering when I noted what looked for all the world like a chicken feather right on the counter. It was a short white feather that looked like a ...well...a chicken feather.
"Hey look!", I said, 'one tried to get away".
We both had the image of a bug-eyed chicken hopping and flapping onto the counter while chased by a Mexican with a meat cleaver. We had to step out of line we were laughing so hard. Then the guy behind us saw it and we made the international chicken sign <thumbs in armpirts, flapping elbows> so he started laughing ...and then the guy behind him started laughing. The poor cashier is short (everybody is short at el Pollo Loco) so she cant see the feather on the customer side of the cash register. I am pretty sure she just thought "******* crazy anglos".
That was the most fun I ever had a Pollo Loco.

*************Sit Rep: Port Hedland, 10-22-42*********
Upon review of the replay, it appears Yamato and friends are camping out at PH. They are perhaps protesting the corporate greed on display there.
USS South Dakota, a CL and 4 DD's are about 120 mi E of Exmouth and can reach PH tonight thought the transports are gone, having bugged out to the East. Probably best if they head back to Geraldton.
Exmouth will be a level 1 airfield in 1-2 d. Carnavon will be level 4 in 2-4 d. The whole are will be less hospitable to JJ ships when we come back.
Weather has cleared a bit over PH so the bombers shoudl be able to go in.

It is down to either MC Hammer or Dog the Bounty Hunter for Halloween. Everybody seems to be out of MC Hammer pants so I think I will just get a blond mullet wig and a leather vest.
Last year I was Che Guevara with an Obama shirt but the fake beard bugged the crap out of me. I still have my Club Gitmo outfit but I can't stand that beard either.

I don't think they anticipated such a stout defence from the Hottentot Lancers of East Africa Brigade. The zebra shields are very intimidating.
Then there was this:
Morning Air attack on 5th Division, at 57,129 (Port Hedland)
Weather in hex: Partial cloud
Raid detected at 39 NM, estimated altitude 10,000 feet.
Estimated time to target is 13 minutes
Allied aircraft

No Allied losses
Japanese ground losses:
437 casualties reported
Squads: 1 destroyed, 13 disabled

And this:

Ansons ... but you left out the Wapitis! [X(]
I strongly suggest that you contact some subcontractor to build upp Corunna Downs so you can add those fearsome airframes to the mayhem. Can't let the Anson pilots one-up them, can we?

It is really just a Blenheim that hasn't come out of the closet yet.
Not an unattractive aircraft (except for the tail)

A look at the CR and the Allies have an advantage in guns and vehicles. I am thinking this gives CRT shifts for the defense that is not reported ...I have had battles where the IJA had 2-1 AV advantage but I had 3:2 or better guns and tanks and even though the AV was outclassed I got adjusted CRT shifts ...the die roll although was stupendious! 4K LYB's!

We have been working on our die rolls. It is much easier than reading the manual.
