T73 south (Soviet)
Last turn of mud, so I expect restart of onslaught.
New units - 1 cav div. It really puzzles me, what I was thinking spending available AP on some random stuff.
Defending Stalingrad is crucial for survival of my troops in Caucasus.

T73 eastern Caucasus (Soviet)
My only hope for survival is poor condition of Saper's forces.

It protects rail line to Astrakhan so it is vital for successful defence of this town, should threat arise. Loosing both Astrakhan's and Makhachkala's ports will leave Caucasus isolated and loosing Makhachkala seems inevitable.

I see, so you're talking about protecting the line that runs behind Stalingrad past Lake Elton?
Can you reinforce the Caucasus from Guriev?

It was many patches ago but I posted about Guriev being a de facto near infinite supply source. Screenie somewhere...

I am not sure, but I think loosing Astrakhan and Makhachkala will cut sea-supply line from Guriev to Baku.

Reading this cery interesting AAR, I am surprised by the strength of the german counterattack on turns 68-69.
He is far away from supply and moves easily more than 20 units almost on the coast of the caspian sea.
Is there any secret supply source? It looks unrealistic.

Anyway you can start driving east in the center?
GHC OOB is at 3.6 million if he keeps attacking much longer it will really start to hurt him.
Attack where you can and try to get attrition ball rolling. Its still early and if he screws up once as we have seen in M60's game the tables can turn very very fast.
Dont use any cav or mech in attrition attacks only infantry. Hoooper was a master at it.

T74 Caucasus (German)
First turn of snow and Saper resumes advance towards oil fields.
Makhachkala has fallen so I will have to fall back to next defensive position.

T74 south (Soviet)
New units - 1 cav div, 1 inf div, 3 mech brig
In the north and center neither of sides is strong enough to undertake any offensive action. Situation is slightly different in the south. Saper must have stripped Stalingrad area of best troops so I enjoy temporary superiority, that I will try to utilise as long as I can.

Keeping whole front here is wastage, so majority of units will be moved north soon.

I try to extract troops east to reinforce forces defending Baku. Unfortunately it will take few more turns.
