We've got artwork coming for Chichibu and then all is well.

Started working on Between the Storms Lite this morning. Implementing all the changes done in BTS to this set of files. Should be very quick.

Should note, due to a comment by Michael in an email, that I had added Shinano and Aki as 3rd and 4th Yamato-Class BBs. The player will have the choice as to spend the points on whether or not to build them. The shipyards will be PACKED with lots of choices.

This is the main difference between the two Mods. BTS has the Yamato's and BTSL builds the Owari-Class BB with 16" Guns. The change allows for several more ships to be completed by Dec 7th (due to no expansion needs for the yards) and a much better shipyard situation at war's start. Build-out in BTSL is 4 Owari and 2 B-65 BCs. VERY nice!

Following Japanese tradition for building special-use ships, Michael made the suggestion and I agreed that the Japanese would have built AEs for the Yamato's. Following that train of thought, the Japanese player get EXACTLY two Karate-Class AE that come in in May and Aug 42. MIGHTY useful and don't let a sub get 'em!

One other cause championed by Michael was to allow for the Americans to bring in several fighter units as full wings of 75 planes. Terrifying thought for a 75 plane--single unit sweep but I totally concurred. The Allies get one in 1943 and one in 1944.

Or it could be Hai-Karate like the after shave.

Anyway, try this on for Chichibu:

And this after mid-war radar/AA upgrades:

Curious. Are you planning on bumping allied fighter production a smidge for the new wings? By '43 the problem isn't squadrons, its manufacturing support.

That is an honest, good thought.

We've already bumped Allied numbers once and we have the off-map procurement system.

Michael: Do you think we need more?

No more for the purchase system. Just a small increase in the production....GP

Could be do-able. Which in particular?

Taking a complete shot-in-the-dark, here is the Light Battlecruiser Chichibu. Her turrets come from the incomplete Kaga. I imagined a 'typical' Japanese CA and raised her by about 30-40%. Figured that the initial displacement was around 19,000 but has gone up with reconstruction.

Have no idea regarding armor or durability. Think I need to raise Endurance and Fuel. Took a slight lowering of BC Amagi and the Kongos.

Am not wedded to this presently so provide some good thoughts and constructive commentary!

I like the two 15.5cm turrets better than only one. Feels more like a precursor of the Yamato.

Agreed.

Sort of like how the Chesapeake is now a direct precursor to the Alaska-Class.

Very nice Dadman. I also like the two 15cm Chichibu. John, Dadman would you mind if I use the Chichibu art work for my mod?
