There is a VERY impressive YouTuber singer that goes by J/Fla. She's Korean, likely speaks better English than most of my friends.
She's done an altogether vast array of covers. She has currently 16 million subscribers. She earned them.

I love listening to her. Often her covers are better than the original artist.

Here's a question for those who love their music. Suppose you could only ever listen to 50 pieces of music for whatever time you have left on this planet. You choose 50 and that is all you will ever hear. If you try and play other music pieces or you hear music played on the radio or TV you simply won't be able to hear it.

So, knowing this, what would you choose and why? A piece of music is one piece of music say no more than 20 mins long (so for example you could include a movement from a symphony as one piece).

So basically its like a top 50 - but with a difference. If you don't choose a piece you will never hear it again [X(]

So who is up for putting a list of 50 together with a brief explanation of why for each. Obviously the list can be put together over time and you can post each track as you decide to include.

Individual pieces of music. Typically these will be songs of about no more than 5 minutes. I've said up to 20 so that a movement, from a symphony for example, can be included.

Any artist(s) you like. It's all about the 30 pieces of music that are all you will ever hear again.

A seasoned witch could call you from the depths of your disgrace... Yeah, she certainly called me. Lucky enough to see Yes
in concert at Wembley twice. This track always brought the house down. It' rich and vibrant, calm and frenetic, and plugs directly into your soul. Life without Close To The Edge is just not worth living.

Well that would be unfair to those who only like classical music.

50 tracks/movements seems simple.

So if these are the only toons I am ever going to hear I need to make sure I have a mix of styles, moods, artists. This will mean it won't be a simple 50 favourites, because some quality tracks will necessarily need to be discarded in order to get an all round list.

Like shunwick, my list will be in no particular order - just getting 50 will be hard enough.... so many tooooons.

No.1. My first choice leaves me with a dilemma already! Which version do I choose? The track is Signal to Noise (Peter Gabriel). There is the original and the New Blood Version on my ipod. The latter is more orchestral, and as such is perhaps a more melancholy version, while the original is much more raw and there are North African(?) and Aboriginal influences that perhaps make the overall end product much richer.

Such an extraordinary, powerful track that heads off in so many directions before building to a wonderful string crescendo. All complemented beautifully by Gabriel's gravely voice - I think I have to go with the original.

Yes, I agree that would be dumb if it was allowed, but it is not allowed. The intention is not that one could choose The Four Seasons because there are four violin concertos and each has movements within. It is each of those movements that counts as a track.

I will be choosing a piece from The Four Seasons myself - a piece from Winter. But I can't choose the whole of The Four Seasons as one track, I can't choose the three movements from Winter as one track. I want Largo from Winter and that counts as one track - and sadly its only about a couple of minutes long - but its quality not quantity [:)]

I've heard many versions of this ball-bouncingly beautiful piece. The pizzicato really stands out on this track, but of course its the quality of the lead that is all important. No one plays the lead like Nigel Kennedy (certainly that I've heard) - and it's his playing that makes the difference between inclusion and exclusion from my list.
