I'm glad to have put you out of your misery dogancan hehe. It's a nightmare when you can't remember the name [:D]

I spent hours trying to get Soldiers of War to behave in XP and resorted to installing Win98 in VMWare a couple of years ago to get it running. The game played ok that way, but without any sound. I haven't bothered again since I discovered Silent Storm as it was so similar to play, but with a much better engine.

I know it's silly, but I miss Aces of the Deep and Transport Tycoon Delux.
I can't help with Aces of the Deep, but if you want to play an updated Transport Tycoon, go here....it's a blast [;)]

Hmm, don't know. Are you using an original data set from the game or the open source version they just released?

X-Com with a 3/4 perspective and modern hardware being applied to the graphics. I wonder how much acquiring the X-Com license would be?

not sure. I had my old disc in the drive when I installed.

Anyways I picked up a bargin-bin copy of INDUSTRY GIANT 2 Gold, since I am still on a industrial fix..still playing CC:TLD but my H2H player isn't good and the British have been routed on the beach, as has Omaha..Utah punched out, got countered and I destroyed all his airbourne assets on June.6 and night of June.7 and that's with stripped German force pools.

Getting ready to resume Flames of War, tabletop, for mid-war and late war gaming. 16. Luftwaffe Feld Division(late war w/21st Pz Support), 4.Panzer Division(Late War, ostfront, which is also the base idea for a 9.Pz Division late war I am inking out) and 12.Panzer Division(Mid-war w/ Pz I Fs) I am thinking of using my 16.LFD battlegroup for ReCON this year out at Cocoa Beach in March.

I wish they had made several expansions to Call of Duty 2.

Well it seems someone has remade M.U.L.E.

You can download it for free and play it online.

I also found out a lot about the creator I had never known.

Play me on CC:WAR, or even better on COTA if you need a challenge. [:D]

Emperor of the Fading Suns. I've heard so many good things about this one, and would really love to see an update/remake.

Add another vote to the Emperor of the Fading Suns tally...grateful that I still have my CD ROM for the game.

Cool, I've always wanted to study this game but couldn't really find a way.

SPI's Global War, Battlefleet Mars (surprised it wasn't mentioned) and seconds on Transport Tycoon Deluxe.

waiting on Panther's Bulge..just saw the screens at Wargamer and my clickin finger is still twitching.

Didn't get WAR yet. I am still bitter over CC4 which I got the day it dropped and hated the new format.

You should have no problem finding Close Combat opponents, so it shouldn't be hard to find someone good to play with.

I spent hours trying to get Soldiers of War to behave in XP and resorted to installing Win98 in VMWare a couple of years ago to get it running.

Other than high speed screen scrolling with a mouse (avoided by using the keyboard to scroll) I haven't had any problems running Soldiers at War in XP. (it's still on my hard drive and I last played it around Xmas-time[/i]) ...in fact, it's currently the last game I have that still needs my use of a virtual CD drive.
