Fall 1943 - Where have all the WA troops in the Middle East gone?? Suddenly all of them seem to have been sent somewhere else, so Italian Militia shall capture the deserts while Rommel was recalled to Europe to teach Tank Division Commanders.
Meanwhile the Luftwaffe enjoys the hunting grounds over Britain, killing WA planes in high numbers. Sadly our bombers did only hit sand sacks instead of enemy bombers...
Operation drumbeat has been a success so far, Axis subs have made a graveyard out of the Atlantic this turn.
Russia is pushing an avalanche of troops westward in the meantime. Waiting for that Atomic bomb to drop over them...[:D]

Winter 1944 - Uboats enjoy the "happy times" in the Atlantic, noteworthy is the decline of the WA transports:
start of Fall 1943 turn: 42 transports
start of Winter 1944 turn: 37 transports
end of German Winter 1944 turn: 28 transports
Besides that some Russian planes got killed. Red Army moved into Eastern Poland. Axis response pending...

WA - Winter '44: The winter of our discontent. The uboat war continues unabated. Elite Japanese CV pilots deal the USN another heavy blow putting the WA on the defensive on that front as well. Western mothers begin to wonder why they sacrifice so much when the Russo-German War resembles nothing so much as a pillow fight. Churchill urges Stalin to begin filling Germany's factories with broken Panzers. Picture of Europe attached.

Spring 1944 - Uboat commanders get angry - no more transports out there to sink, they hide out in Allied ports...
As the Red Army offered the opportunity an attack was mounted from Romania, causing quite some chaos in the Russian army in Kiev, with negligible own losses. It seems indeed that the Red Army wants to throw pillows. The Axis unfortunately does not have pillows at hands, just steel bullets...
Screen shot shows the situation on the Eastern Front after Axis moves.

WA: Spr '44 - After cleaning up some of the mess made on the sealanes over the last few turns the Allies go back on the offensive in the Pacific. Singapore is liberated and some transports and aircraft are damaged. A battle ship and a Naval air are damaged taking out a Light ship that has been isolated without supply for almost a year.[:@]

Summer 1944 - a look back at Spring - Red Army pushes into Romania but is repulsed. No more pillowfightin'...
The Axis counterattack in Summer does not go too well, thanks to Russian Militia employing some wonderweapon - 3 auto hits alone!!!
Part of the Airforce had to be diverted to Romania in order to keep the increasingly annoying Russian Fighters at bay. Will they dare to challenge JETS?
U-boat losses increased significantly, happy times seem over in the Atlantic. Still some damage was done to Allied shipping. A squadron of subs was sent into the Indian Ocean to assist out Japanese Allies in their brave fight.

WA - Summer '44: The allied Navy's continue to try to clean up the mess they made. Mostly air battles. The RAF sorties over Western Germany again.

Fall 1944 - another faulty executed attack on Kiev - some Generals were relieved of their duties...
Not much new elsewhere in Europe, looks like a stalemale for now.
Did I mention how I like those autohits? [:@] I could imagine Destroyers getting a lucky hit but two transports...?

WA - Fall '44: Eisenhower decides that it's time to gamble even if the weather isn't perfect. A combined airborne and amphibious landing successfully establishes a beachhead in Western France. Paris is liberated. Elsewhere, ASW efforts continue to round up German subs (even in the Pacific). Western air forces continue a war of attrition against Japan.

Winter 45 - Uboats still have teeth, unfortunately this turn they mostly ended up biting into WA Battleships instead the guarded transports...[:@] So transport losses were light.
Now that the WA Army had decided to learn combined arms warfare in Europe they shall learn by example as soon as spring comes...[:D]
Another Russian attack on Rumania, I have stopped counting them. It was repulsed of course, the area between Kiev and Romania has become the Verdun of WWII...

WA - Win '45: The battle for control of the seas continues. In the Atlantic and Indian Oceans a HS, a LS, 2 TRS and 3 Uboat flotillas are sunk or damaged. In the Pacific the IJN is reduced to 1 CV, 1 HS and several TRS. Several Betty formations are damaged.
In Europe, Eisenhower decides that holding a lone beachhead against 2:1 odds isn't his cup of tea. Franco offers room and board to the homeless Tommies and Yanks. Some Nazi guerillas are eliminated during the redeployment.
MacArthur liberates Manila and British forces march out of Eastern India returning to Mandalay.

You surprised me there with the attack of Spain. That is kind of a step in the wrong direction[&:]. If he is not holding Gibraltar the only point would be denying him resources... I expected attack on the TLC, or E. France...

He stripped his Southern and Eastern defenses and had 26 to thirty units that count toward taking territory (i.e. militia, Inf, Armor) within striking distance including about 20 in E France (not to mention AA and Art). The Luftwaffe still has enough strength along with his remaining subs to destroy any transport fleets that I may have left off the coast of France. Therefore, I couldn't take Eastern France and there was a good chance my whole army would be lost for lack of a place to retreat. As I saw it my only option was to retreat back across the channel or head to Spain. With Gibraltar at my back now at least I have somewhere to retreat if I lose a defensive battle. I chose to stay on the continent so I don't have to invade again (Unless an opening presents itself[:D]) .
Stalin, I hope you are taking notes.[;)]

Spring 1945 - The WA cut and run away into Spain at the first sight of Axis troops. So Germany recaptures Poland and re-establishes a frontline from the baltics south towards Rumania. Heavy air support almost negates Russian Artillery. Stalin for sure is taking notes - it is better to retreat like the WA did...[:D]
Uboats still catch a fish here and there but are becoming more and more victims of bigger fish, WA DD's that is...

WA Spr '45 - In the Pacific the WA continue to push the Japanese back toward their Islands. A CV battle insues resulting in the destruction of an IJN CV and BB. The Japanese Air Force and transport fleets take scattered heavy losses. Singapore is reoccupied .... again, as is Hainan Island.
European front follows. Turn was sent to Marshall Art.

WA Spr '45 con't - France is reoccupied, including Southern France. The Vichy scum are rounded up and dealt with harshly. ASW operations continue. Cairo is liberated. Milan and Turin are bombed.
