Thanks Tweber.  We've used Tweber+Redmarkus+PDF in the scenario designer slot.  Hope that's ok with you?

PDF.

I'm going to put version 5 on the scenario bank in a minute for you.

However, I'm having some problems:

1. I edited the settings and set it to read the Real master file. I selected 'read ppl data' or whatever and the Russians were all replaced with Universals. I think I've corrected that, but can you look through and confirm I have done it right?

2. Now, after I set it back to read 'generic master' the militia units are no longer available to build in the game. They are on-map where I set them in edit mode, but you can't build any more. What have I screwed up there?

As I made a large number of OOB and other changes in v5 (see briefing) I don't want to do them over, so if you can rescue this file it would be great!

Bah I'm not really a designer of the scenario, just a helping hand !
I think you've screwed things with "read ppl data", you must have replied a sound "NO". My Militia were Russia only, but maybe I also fumbled it myself because I'm not sure I defined them as buildable units..I'll check that.
But there may be several bad other effects due to the "people change", you should have restarted your edits rather that trying to correct manually imho.

OK, I've fixed the Universals issue, I think and restored the Russians. It was basically cosmetic because it looks like the settings for Universals and Russians are the same - no disadvantage.

Now I'm seeing one more issue; the recruitment during the game is split between Russians and Town's People. Do I need to go to every town on the map and reset the people type?

Game is playing out well vs. the Axis AI.

How does my Autumn mud event look?

@redmarkus. That happens when you take a existing scenario and play around in without knowing
it´s structures and layout in detail. I know what i´m talking about cause i did the same. Good for learning btw....
Would have been better to remove ALL events and ALL units and use only the map. But on divisional level a bigger map would be better of course.

Playing around in the peoples could screw some events since they check for people or peoplegroups.
So if there was a check for the russians and you use now there universals without the same ID you´ll get problems.
Depending on how many of the original events are left....

The town people had a special reason ! Usually the towns has been set to not produce anything (town people doesn´t produce for axis and russia),
but with production advantage activated these towns do a "virtual production". They doesn´t produce self, but they make the production of the owners cities cheaper. Tom just wanted to avoid too many production center and to much micromanagement and this was a good step.

Btw, having different peoples sitting in russian production locations will reduce your SubFormation slots in the units since you need
one slot for "town people rifle" and another for "russian rifle". You can´t mix them. Same for all other SFT´s. So in case you want to let ALL locations produce and thrown away most events Tom made you should change all the town locations in russian hands to russians.

OK, thanks for the guidance. This was learning experience and I actually enjoyed playing the scenario as the Soviets. The AI gave me a good fight - it's still going on - and the problems listed have been partly fixed.

Now Tweber has offered to make a new, larger Russia map. When he sends it to me I'm going to rebuild this scenario from scratch. I think this time around I'll do a better job.

Dowloaded v5 of your scenario and it lacks a few graphics (Soviet military simbols, militia and partisans). Is that ok?

Hi Bombur,

Sorry about the delay in replying. Basically, I have stopped work on this early version because Tom Weber ('Tweber') has built an amazing new version with a much larger and more detailed map, new units, events and more. I'm helping him with the OOB and a few ideas for events. Therefore, I haven't looked at the forum for a few days while we were working on that.

I'm guessing that Tom will post the new version along with its graphics in a more effective way than I did - it was my first time. I think you're going to really like what he's done.

Hi all and Happy New Year when it comes!

We've done a lot of work on the new scenario, and have renamed it Great Patriotic War (GPW). It has a similar OOB to the first WiTE_Divisional version, with a lot of small improvements, lots more historical detail, all on a much bigger and more detailed map. There are new events for mud and winter, as well as a few other's I'm trying to fix to respond to coaching from Tweber.

The map now goes from Berlin all the way far to the east of Moscow and Stalingrad as well as all the way down to Baku. I need to fix the VPs and some other things I'm still learning but I think you'll have this to play pretty soon. I'll ask Tweber if he thinks we should post it for play testing - he's on vacation right now.

The main problem is the 1.02 AI; it's not good enough to really make life hard for a human Axis player, but if the AI is set as Axis then it doesn't want to advance past Riga or Minsk! Also, the AI builds crazy amounts of Air units, even when it has no defence left on the ground. It then parks the air units in the front lines lol.

So, I was really hoping to get 1.1 downloaded and to finish the scenario under the new patch. There are some other new features in 1.1. we want to explot as well. I'm not sure when 1.1 will be hosted on the Matrix site...?

Any volunteers for human vs. human play testing in about 1-2 weeks?

Great Vorsteher.  Just waiting to see 1.1 hosted by Matrix so I can make those changes, then you can test away like crazy.  I will list the issues I know about that need examination when I post it.

Tom posted this in the WAW-Thread:
ORIGINAL: tweber

I am actually working on 2 others scenarios and want to get them done.

I hope that one of these 2 scenarios is this war in the east scenario [:)]
