so i just purchased TLD and i am having the Code 18 error when i try to launch. i've tried to hold down CTRL and launch the program but then i get an error message saying "data file cannot be found." is there any new ways to fix this? ....or did i just waste $40?

I downloaded the update and it seems that the error code 18 problem is gone; but now it is telling me "cannot find data file." Any solutions to this problem?

.the issue is 100% with windows UAC and windows defender, nothing worked until I got rid of these two offenders......Once they were taken out things started working

thanks i disabled those two programs and then i also had to go and turn off the windows xp compatibility mode for both games and they seem to be running fine.... is the menu scree supposed to be small? when i am actually playing a map it fits the screen.

Yes, the menu screens will not go full screen as they are hard coded at 800x600.....

This isn't necessarily the case. I disabled both UAC and defender, disabled my antivirus software (Norton 360), installed the game, opened the shortcut......and got the Error 18 code.

I've been trying to run this game for 3 hours now. My system might not meet the specs, so here's the dxdiag

are you runnaing as administrator?

Running as Admin. Tried both. Also tried xp compatiblility. and combinations of both.

Best I can do is get the Menu Box to open up. Oh, and I can view the manuals. So far though, I'm not happy about paying over $40 for a manual to a game I can't play.
