Now that I have some time and decided to return... I'm going to go back through and take a re-look at this and see what,if anything, I would like to combine with DaBigBabes Mod.
Anything, anything! we can do! Have some bases and map art from a gnarly DEI scen we did.

As the Mighty BaVog says ... "Tak ta me"

Ciao John

I'll take a look at the DEI work... I recall I made a fair number of changes to the deployment of the Allies in Malaya....in addition to the small map change.

Another change I'm toying with is a repositioning of the Lower Solomons...original positions on the left...new on the right. The right side is a screen capture of a map I've been toying around with in Campaign Cartographer.

Malaya, 12th Indian Infantry Brigade, & etc...

Started to do my comparison between my old work on Treepider's Grand campaign (TGC) and DaBigBabe's (DBB) in preparation of porting TGC work into the DBB.

So I decided to start in Malaya to compare differences. I plan on using the DBB TO&E work and possibly fill in gaps in the OOB if and where I find them.

In Malaya we come across the 12th Indian brigade. Per Kirby the 12th was in Port Dickson in Corps reserve.

The 12th consisted of:
-2nd Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders
-5/2 Punjab
-4/19 Hyderabad
-122 Fd Regt
-15th Fd Coy S&M

Both Stock and DBB have apparently overlooked the 4/19th.

During the morning of Dec 8 the 4/19th was sent via rail to the railhead at Kuala Krai which is c. 45 miles south of Kota Bharu. From the afternoon of the 9th till the morning of the 11th the 4/19th maintains a position at Ketereh 10m s. of Kota Bharu.

For TGC I will be adding the 4/19th and placing it in 51,76 with a new 0-0 dot base Kuala Krai.

The 3/16 formed a good portion of the Krohcol. In stock it is part of the 12th Indian brigade. IIRC I will make it an an independent actor. It will be placed into hex 50,74 with orders to march due east to occupy the "Ledge" south of Patani.

Other small differences include the locations of 1st Mysore ISF and 1st Hyderabad ISF. Kirby notes that these units were Airfield Defense Troops. As such I have located the 1st Mysore at Kuantan and the 1st Hyderabd to Kuala Lumpur.

I need to look at the changes in map data that JWE incorporated into the DBB DEI scen. In my mod I have the 27th Australian starting I believe where JWE placed the Kluang base...

Ok...back into the rabbit hole...

Ok...next little update...

Malaya
- Assigned the 3/16th Punjab to the 15th Indian Bde.
- Created new unit 15th(-) Indian Bde.
- Subtracted 3/16th devices from 15th(-)
- 3/16th and 15th(-) can combine into the original 15th Indian

China
- Ported over all of my new dot bases.
- Ported over all of my Chinese "Political" Sections that maintain control of the new dotbases...avoiding the base auto change feature
- Due to the renumbering of the Chinese combat units, the Political Seciton were placed into slots - 7765-7816.

Next up re-examining the Chinese combat units, I have a number of divisions and communist units that combine into larger formations however with the LCU slots being moved this will take a bit more work.

Following that a review of Japanese starting locations in China...IIRC there were a number of changes I made.

Then I bring in my reduced airfield sizes...

That will have to wait till this evening ...other more important matters require my attention today.

CHINA
Chinese units - complete.
Japanese units - complete.

Need to examine garrison requirements for the pre-existing Chinese Bases and adjust as necessary.

BASES

Need to adjust airfield sizes to reflect TGC reductions which result in reduced capability.

Treespider,

Have you considered doing to the British/Commonwealth divisions in India what you did to the Manchuko garrison as far as permanently restricted until the last little piece shows up?

Not yet...just getting back into the swing of things...but open to any and all suggestions... the more specific the better.

Manchuria

I believe i have all of my units updated...at least the Divisions. The modified divisions start broken down into regiments that are static attached to their HQ. As such they cannot be bought out with PP. At dates in the future elements arrive that allow the component regiments to recombine into their parent divisions which may then be purchased with PP.

Need to go through the list to see if I static attached a number of the Artillery, AA and Engineer units.

Bases-

Airbase Potential Build Sizes updated.

As an example Singapore Airfield goes from an 6(7) to a 6(6) and Alor Star goes from a 4(6) to a 4(2). Lunga goes from a 0(5) to a 0(2).

Economic Tweak

Developed from the tweaking economies thread...

My new quick and dirty analysis...were not going to make any changes to Fuel except eliminate supply from Refineries.

Stock AE:
LI Input - 15 RP
HI Input - 20 RP
LI Output - 1 Sup
HI Output - 2 Sup, 2 HI

Japanase Home Islands (Daily)
LI - 7900 - Req. 118500 RP - Produce 7900 Sup
HI - 6160 - Req. 123200 RP - Produce 12320 Sup
Total RP Req. = 241,700
Res Cntr - 9770 - produce 195400 RP
Shortfall = 46300 RP/day = 16,899,500 RP/yr
Total Supply produced in Home Islands = 20,220

My suggested changes -

As stated eliminate supply from refineries
Do not "shut off" HI or LI because the civilian economy is subsumed under the economic model.

Mod AE:
LI Input - 20 RP
HI Input - 15 RP
LI Output - 2 Sup
HI Output - 0 Sup, 2 HI

Japanaese Home Islands (Daily)
LI - 7900 - Req. 158000 RP - Produce 15800 Sup
HI - 6160 - Req. 92400 RP - Produce 0 Sup
Total RP Req. = 250,400
Res Cntr - 9770 - produce 195400 RP
Shortfall = 55,000 RP/day = 20,075,000 RP/yr

You can make up the 4420 pt supply difference produced in the Home Islands with daily allotments if you feel these are necessary...

As a result of the change Japan would have to transport in roughly 20% more resources...or 3,175,500 pts...and because LI and HI are now both necessary they absolutely have to keep both running.

Historically Japan imported 20,000,000 tons of stuff in 1941

As far as daily effects on supply output from Industry in other areas...from what I have examined...

Manchuria
Stock Output = 1100 supply
Mod Output = 1080 supply

Java
Stock Output = 500 supply (200 of which from refineries)
Mod Output = 360 supply

Occupied China
Stock Output = 640 supply
Mod Output = 560 supply

I think this is going into Treespider's Grand Campaign.

Treespider, this looks great. So how much can the Japanese haul and still run their invasions?

Other small differences include the locations of 1st Mysore ISF and 1st Hyderabad ISF. Kirby notes that these units were Airfield Defense Troops. As such I have located the 1st Mysore at Kuantan and the 1st Hyderabd to Kuala Lumpur.

1st Hyderabad was doing airfield defense at Kota Bharu attached to 8th Indian Brigade, 1st Mysore was on airfield defence somewhere in Kelentan State under direct command of 9th Indian Division (location not specified).

Wonder what the game effect of reducing Pt Arthur to a 7(7) port would be?

Most people claim that all the resources in Asia flow to Pt Arthur...I suspect because it is the only size 9 Port. Shanghai is rated 7(7).

Would there be any appreciable effect on other game systems if I downgraded Pt. Arthur?
