see how my CV increased ?
also, the * means unit was just assigned, the X is for if I want to send the support unit back to the HQ
Pioneers are close to one of the best support units (late war there are some better)
but them Flame Bnn are worth there weight in gold !!!!

above the units, you see a number saying 127, the screen before it is 133, those are my admin points, you "buy" stuff with those
assigning support units to another unit cost Admin points, the same as changing commanders, or changing leaders
some costs are low, others are high
I try to save some, for when I need to reset my commands

this is a good one
I attacked with one Div and 3 support units vs a Inf Div, the SU HQ, sent a Tank Div and a Mot Div in as Reserves (wasn't expecting that !) also sent in two AA Batt as support
my side sent in some good air support, while the Su sent in some air support also, but not much
again, over kill, but, this is a just formed line, which is why I am trying to pound it and get inside of it, next turn, once it gets a chance to dig in, it going to be much HARDer to break

HardSarge the screenshots you have shown show how this game is far more indepth than any other I have played at this level. The AARs are great but its screenshots like these that show off the game and make it stand out from others.
I have never really looked forward to a release of a game at this level until now.
Thankyou for the screenshots. If I wasn't sold before I am now.

Soviet AFV losses are pretty low in that last screenshot. I'm also curious why your fighters didn't manage to shoot any Soviet planes down, did they arrive in different "phases" of the battle?

well, thanks
I noticed from some of the AARs that a lot of the good stuff wasn't showing up, so wanted to get into more detail (since it was a detail post
maybe this will help get across some of the reasons why all of the testers speak so highly about it

who knows ?
bad die rolls, good die rolls, they got lucky, I got unlucky
other battles, will work out a lot different, maybe the code was seeing my fighters as more protection, then as hunters ?
it also could be since no enemy fighters showed up
a lot of my tanks are more support types, so maybe didn't get into much tank vs tank stuff ?
really, i think you could run that say 10 times and come out with 10 different outcomes

well, as I was saying in the other post, I am more a bull in a china shop then a chessgrandmaster, and my battle is on the fly
but this is the out come of the earlier screen shots I was showing here and the reason for some of the things I doing (and showing)
not going to get too much in the way of dead units, but, I broke the main line, before it could gel, took and crossed a major river line and took two major cities and threaten a 3rd
the Russian has to pull back, which weakens his northern forces and his southern forces

OMG - look at the number of Soviet artillery pieces in that 4th screenie!!!! (And then look at the German casualties.) The God of War has spoken....
This does seem to model things very well - even despite this crushing weight of metal, and the attendant massive landser casualties, the German panzers have still managed to destroy a lot (exactly half) of the attacking Soviet armour.

look at the 5th Screenshot, then look at the 2nd unit down for the SU
those are some of the Arty units, they can fire two hexes (can be added to an attack, with out being in the attack)
IIRC, they have to be in place to fire, so can't move and fire, but they can add a lot of firesupport if done right

Nope, they can move a little, it depends on movement points, right now it's been snowing and blizzards and one or two hexes I can 'readjust them' and they can still fire, once they are down to 2-3 mp they can't fire.

rules are changing, last time I had them, they had to be in place before they could fire (really, it used to take a lot work to set up a Arty Div

figured I show some shots from which the details are coming from
up North, think this is the biggest battle I have had so far
8 German Inf Divs vs 3 SU Rifle Divs (along with a Tank Div and another Rifle Div, plus cycle Reg and a gun Reg, wasn't expecting them !)
I also got some decent Air support, the SU try to add in some of there own, but...

what hurt was been wanting to replace Hoepner, with Model, but he was doing good, so didn't do it (he was 39-2 in battles so far, but...)
(really wanted to replace von Leeb, but he is a FM, so HARD to get the right guy into his place) 157-19 so, he is not doing bad, but, he has some issues, and I want some of the Young Turks in command
