One or more unidentified Jap TF(s) were detected outside Kwajalein. The hex location of this contact did not appear in the 12/28 Sigint or operations reports, also no indication concerning the number or identity of ships in these TF or the TF(s) direction of movement.
We should see Pillager coming to Canton next.
Samoa: Sigint report entry for 12/28 indicates radio signals intercepted from Jap submarine identified as I-170, location NE of Pago Pago.
Australia: Force N returns to sea after refuel and refit of ships at Sydney.
