Did you guys go with random weather? If not you till turn 18 when it goes to mud. You are within striking range of Moscow at this point prior to the mud. Trey is going to need to pull a rabbit out of his hat to stop you. Don't forget to keep those cities behind your main thrust occupied to reduce partisans. You might even consider moving another rail repair unit in this sector (center) to keep supply going by building additional lines.

End T9 AGS. Still probing the river - 17th Army could not quite get across.

End Turn9 AGS. I think Trey missed the middle gate to the Crimea - the terrain is confusing, but it allowed GD to get behind the left hand gate. Odessa's defence strength keeps dropping - is it getting supplies?

@Andy. I think we set non-random weather. In our RtM test, Trey was further ahead of where I am now, and I managed to keep him out, but having the whole map to play with may give me more outflanking opportunities than with RtM.

Attack on Pushkin. It took 4 attacks to get Pushkin, and I had to add a Pz div for the 4th attack - something I hate doing.

Something is odd here. It shows only 1 division defending but 3 were routed. No support units coming in..no air support? (for the Soviets)

Yeah I wondered about that. I wondered if the previous attacks had depleted them, so they would not be available for combat?
Do you want the save?

I'm still looking into this Bob, I'm awaiting an earlier turn from Trey so I can try recreate that attack you made that had those missing units. This shouldn't affect your game as far as I can tell right now.

Turn10 AGN. Managed to cross the River next to the City of Leningrad. I have noticed in previous AARs many SU players are leaving this hex undefended. To me this Hex and the two hex rows south of it are the key to the defence of Leningrad. The first protects the port that is the only source of supply if the rail gets cut. The next two rows protect the rail line into the city.

That does surprise me you got across like that. That is a key hex to defend as are the two where your SS are at. I usually have level 4 and maybe 5 forts in those hexes by the time the Germans get there. Leningrad is lost now.

Turn 10. I still can't tell if Trey has a defence line in front of Moscow. I now have to decide whether go for Kalinin to outflank Moscow from the North or go straight for the Kremlin.

T10 AGC. A repeat of the Vyazma pocket looks a possibility.

You have a couple spare turns now that afford you some extra strategic options. While Kalinin is a good target to take it is too far away to really impact the defenses around Moscow, at least from how I typically set them up. I usually use the lama R as my outer ring and anchor it on the Volga Res/swamp junction, but it doesn't look like much is there and you may have an excellent opportunity here. Bring those 9th Army infantry guys forward and widen the corridor north of Rzhev and try pinning that line south to Vyzama in place and head straight for Moscow.

T10 AGS. Should cut the rail line to the Crimea next turn, so Trey should not be able to add much to the forces he has in there at the moment - I may be able to assign the Rumanians to clearing the Crimea, allowing 11th Army to keep pressing Eastwards.

T10 XXXXVIII PZ corps is pretty battered. I will start refitting them when I start phase 2 of my strtegic plan for 1941. Phase 1 ends when Leningrad is captured.
