In my 1.02 beta 1 game, none of my air units recover fatigue while being in reserve.
Thanks Jhak. This is now logged in the main list.
Has anyone else seen this or reported it elsewhere?

From another post - If possible, I would like to see the default saved game file sort order changed to be 'by date, descending' with the most recent save at the top. At the moment I have to click the sort button twice every time I launch the game and go looking for the save I just received via email.

Some of my airborne brigades have been upgraded to Guards; in the commander's report they now are considered company sized, changed from brigades. Their actual equipment is still like a brigade.

When playing traditional email-based PBEM if you edit the Options and remove FoW, you can then see all details of your opponent's army without their knowledge. I guess you would need to set FoW back on before sending the game file to hide the activity. This is a game breaker for email-based PBEM IMO.

Reported by Reconvet. When a recon flight is flown over an enemy combat unit which is adjacent to a friendly combat unit and which has a detection level of say 6, the DL does not increase. This is apparently WAD. HOWEVER, if after the recon flight the friendly ground unit moves away and then back into place, the recon level of the enemy unit jumps to 9. Is the ground unit recon check being repeated each time the friendly unit enters the ZOC of the enemy unit? Tis would allow for some seriously gamey tactics.

Not quite correct. Enemy ground target (in clear terrain) is next to one of mine. One or multiple recon flights over this enemy unit don't show any gain in the DL level or said enemy. When I move my unit away and back next to the recon target (or if I bring a new unit next to the recon target), then the DL goes up or even jumps to max, so at least one of the recon flights must have been successful (without updating the mouseover info). Something has to happen in the ZoC of the recon target to update it's DL. Latest patch btw (Beta 1.03-2).

Reported by Deerslayer. When AG B arrives on map and the details are viewed, no commander is present, but the word 'Leader' is in place where the commander's name should be and is clickable. However, when 'Leader' is clicked the resulting dialogue does not display any available leaders for assignment to the role.

Captured cities provide zero supply or fuel benefit until the rail net is taken all the way to the captured hex. I think that this seriously diminishes the players incentives to capture or defend cities.

When a rail line is cut near, say Minsk, all rail traffic along the entire length of the line running east (say between Minsk and Moscow) is halted. Shouldn't such a cut in the line only affect the eastward movement of troops and supplies that starts WEST of the cut?

Because Romanian and Hungarian units cannot stack together, the rail movement system doesn't even allow Romanians on a train to pass through a hex containing a Hungarian unit. Can this be fixed?

Can you select one of the in unit detail, to show the full name? Thanks

My Front HQs seem to demand 15 construction units, instead of 16 ( as the manual says ).

9. Possible PBEM cheat. (May have been posted elsewhere). The PBEM system allows me to load the saved game, fly recon, then close and re-load to either fly more recon in areas I didn't have the resources to cover the first time, or play without recon and thus cancel out any air losses from recon activity. (Gents - I never do this! I discovered it while trying to recreate a map for a screenie I forgot to save the first time around). Can this be changed somehow? Given the problems with the AI, which I don't expect to see fixed anytime soon, PBEM needs to be locked down tight!

If you are saying that you can save a PBEM game take some actions and then revert to your earlier save and take different actions, that is true. There is nothing in PBEM that is stopping players from reloading a save. One reason for including server Multiplayer was that Slitherine tracks reloads to try to minimize this issue. Changing PBEM to prevent or track reloads would not be easy.

Thanks Joel. I'm going to give that some thought. There must be a way...
Multi-player doesn't support the team game structure we are testing at the moment, unfortunately...

I bought this game on the day it was released and I think it has many things going for it. What I did not realise when I paid my £70 was that I was not buying a finished product. So far I have had to download six patches and still I read that the "game will only be balanced" when enough people play it who can point out its faults.
35 years ago my first wargame, bought as a present for my fifteenth birthday, was "Drang nach Osten" by GDW. In real terms it probably cost more than WITE but worked "straight out of the box" and is still playable today without amy major modifications.
When I bought WITE I wish someone had written on the Matrix website that "this game will be great when you all find what is wrong with it now".
