And in true Russian tradition, some made up production figures for those amongst you, gentle readers, entertained by this sort of thing

Real T13 back from von Carnage. AGN and AGC areas essentially static but we are making good progress in the South. Below at start of Russian turn

The plan was to have Southern Front sweep up through Hungary. Sadly the rail repair units refused to cross the border, forcing the front to retrace its steps. At least it has 11 army to chew on. Hopefully SW Front and my Rumanian allies ( eager to redeem themselves after their past historical mistakes) will be enough.

In the meantime the rail repair units were all sent by Comrade Stalin to build rail track in Siberia. New units are being trained up but are unlikely to be ready for operations before December.

Taking Berlin before Xmas looks like being harder than I thought it would be.

Long time no post on this.

In his fantasy game Carnage stopped attacking pretty much by T15 apart from a foray that captured most of Crimea but not the important bits. Russians hold line L'grad, Rzhev, Viazma, Bryansk, Sumy aand half way between Donbass cites and D&Z towns for only 2.3M casualties.

With blizzard about to start Defence Minister Sillyflower's elite guard warms up ready for chewy time.

Posting behind history in my real game with C as this AAR is open to him

DM Sillyflower continues to demonstrate Comrade Stalin's genius as she continues to push into Hugary and to put pressuer on AGS. Nazi 11th army almost totally destroyed

Only skirmishing going on in AGC and AGN areas as neither side strong enough to make useful progress. AGS Nazis falling back slowly under coninuous Soviet pressure. Little sign of Hungarian army - I fear they are concentrating to defend their capital

MUD SAVES VON CARNAGE

Position at end of soviet T17. We fall just short of Bucharest and the surrender of Hungary. Our supply situation will be horrible as RR units still refusing to do their jobs.

Elswhere in Poland

Led by 5th Cavalry corps, SW Front makes a major beakthrough heading due West into Greater Germany.. A major error by von C who obviously failed to see it coming, or to exploit the gap in our lines as SW Front moved across him. leaving a gap which took a week to fill with forces attached to Stavka

No doubt the mud coming will enable the Nazis to halt the advance.

Back to Carnage's fantasy game. Position at end of soviet 1st blizzard turn. Every German inf div seems to be in the front line and a bit of armour too in the south + crimea. Level 2 forts everywhere as the result of Nazis being static pretty well everywhere from T14.

Soviet objectives are simple - destroy the Wehrmacht and retake Holy Russia. Soviet army strong enough to attack in most places so attacks sread out to remove his forts and zoc-lock as many units as possible so he will have to retreat them out of their forts. There does not seem to be any back-up line.

centre - a major push with 2 fronts and 1st Shock Cav Army aimed at Smolensk. 16 cav corps formed this turn, all with at least 1 sapper regt.

casualties very good ratio especially as have been having to break the fortline, but quite a lot of the casualties are allies

air casualties. Note LW has lost hardly any transports because Von C never flew any air transport missions after about T2 for some reason.

Oh well, my uselessness at IT strikes again. Aopologies, dear Reader.

Lastly production. No arms factories lost other than Minsk, nor anything else apart from some HI. Quite a bit of HI was also railed out when I had spare capacity.

Carnage did say he was trying out a new strategy I don't know what it is but putting everything in the front line is perhaps not an ideal one.

My strategy - damage his army to prevent effective '42 offensive and grab territory to try to hold forward in '42.

Of course I may be telling porkies as von C is allowed onto this AAR.....

Doesn't matter because this isn't the real game anyway [:)]

It is simples
There are 2 separate games on this AAR. The real one where I held Carnage at the border and conquered Rumania in '41.
The other where Carnage is doing a bit better is a fake game that he believes is the real one, for reasons I do not understand
